Media Outlet Highlights 7 Agencies Set to Debut New K-pop Groups in late 2021-2022: Which Group Do You Anticipate the Most?

Seven huge entertainment agencies, HYBE, "BIG3," P-Nation, Starship and Cube Entertainment, prepare for the biggest rookie competition in 2022! From the fourth quarter of 2021 to next year, numerous K-pop groups are expected to be introduced in the music scene.

The unprecedented idol competition will be held in 2022.

On the 15th, Korean media outlet Sports Chosun highlighted the upcoming K-pop groups that are set to debut in late 2021 to 2022 from some of the largest entertainment agencies.

From traditional "idol masters" such as SM Entertainment, HYBE, JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and more, new K-pop groups will also launch one after another. In particular, the producers are expected to face off in that they will release a team fostered by representative producers in the music industry.

Starting with Psy's P-Nation, the K-pop legend will introduce a boy group created through SBS's "Loud."

Earlier, seven people, including Jang Hyunsoo, Choi Tae Hun, Cheon Jun Hyuk, Eun Hwi, Oh Sung Jun, Woo Kyung Jun and Tanaka Koki were selected as members of the debut group of the P-Nation.

SM Entertainment also plans to launch NCT 2021. Earlier, a teaser photo was revealed to K-pop fans through NCT's official SNS. Last year, two new members Shotaro and Sungchan were introduced; thus, expectations of whether new members will be unveiled as well this year.

In addition to P-Nation and SM, Cube Entertainment is also planning to debut a new boy group. Cube is an idol star who has made a series of hits such as BEAST (hereinafter HIGHLIGHT), BTOB and Pentagon. Cube's new boy group is the first rookie in six years since the Pentagon in 2016. The composition and team names of the members have not yet been disclosed.

Lastly, JYP Entertainment hinted at the release of its new boy group as well. Short for "Extraordinary Heroes," the Xdinary Heroes, which means "anyone can be a hero," is set to kick-off as well. On the 15th, its first member Jooyeon was introduced through a preview video.

Meanwhile, new girl groups from the aforementioned agencies herald to enter the music scene as well.

Starship will launch a new girl group IVE on December 1. The group is a six-member girl group consisting of former IZ*ONE members Wonyoung and Yujin, along with new faces, Gaeul, Liz, Rei and Leeseo.

HYBE led by Bang Si Hyuk presents a rookie girl group through its affiliated label Source Music. Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon, who worked as IZ*ONE, and Heo Yoonjin, who appeared in Mnet's "Produce 48," will join the team, drawing attention as several members who have already built solid fandoms in Korea and Japan have already been included.

In addition, HYBE will select a new girl group as well through Mnet's "I-Land 2," which is scheduled to air in the first half of next year.

Moreover, Park Jinyoung's JYPn will be launched most aggressively in 2022 along with YG Entertainment who will also launch a rookie girl group five years after BLACKPINK. The team name is likely to be Baby Monsters.

According to initial reports, it is a high-teen girl group consisting of members aged 15 to 16 on average, and all members are known to be "YG elite members" who are young but have received an average of four to five years of high-intensity training.

As such, super-large agencies have launched a series of new idol groups, and a big match in the K-pop industry will take place in 2022.
