Yuju Set to Release New Song, New Career After GFRIEND's Disbandment
Yuju participates as a new singer of "Cyworld BGM 2021" and she will reveal a remake of Jo Sung Mo's "To Your Side."
"To Your Side" is the main OST of the SBS drama "Lovers in Paris," a megahit 2004 Korean drama. The song has been consistently loved on different music charts, including the Cyworld BGM chart, because of its rhythmic melody and Jo Sung Mo's lyrical tone.

"To Your Side" by Yuju is expected to emphasize the song's uniqueness. On November 19, "Cyworld BGM 2021" will produce a concept based on Yuju's real life, which will further raise interest in her upcoming solo track.
Yuju After GFRIEND's Disbandment
On June 3, it was revealed that Yuju released an OST, titled "Comfort," for the MBN tv series "Bossam: Steal of Fate." The song topped Melon's OST chart upon release.
On July 27, Yuju released a collaboration track with San E, titled "So Silly."

Now, she will release a remake of "To Your Side."
GFRIEND's Disbandment and HYBE's Application to Trademark the Group's Name
GFRIEND formally disbanded last May 22. The announcement was a shock that Buddies (GFRIEND fandom) cannot help but doubt what has caused the successful K-pop girl group to make the decision.
Since then, Buddies claimed the girl group was not treated fairly. One theory was that HYBE trademarked the girl group's name.
Reports stated HYBE, the agency that manages the K-pop boy groups BTS and TXT, has applied to trademark GFRIEND's name as their intellectual property in March 2021, two months before the girl group's seemingly hurried disbandment.
Yuju Joins Kang Daniel's Agency, KONNECT Entertainment
Former GFRIEND Yuju was reported to have joined Kang Daniel's agency, KONNECT Entertainment. The label has since responded to the news.
On August 11, entertainment news outlet Celuv Media released an exclusive report, stating Yuju is possibly signing an exclusive contract with KONNECT Entertainment.
The agency responded former GFRIEND Yuju is one of the many artists included in the recruitment process.
Then, by the end of August, it was confirmed that she officially signed a contract with the agency.
The agency is home to K-pop artist Kang Daniel, who is also the CEO of the label that was founded back in 2019. It was formerly established as a "one-man" agency before Kang Daniel's solo debut.
