China Officially Bans Kris Wu from Live-streaming Following Sexual Assault Charges
On November 23, the Cyberspace Administration of China announced that Kris Wu, also known as Wu Yifan, is one of the people who are officially banned from making any live-streams in the country.
According to the Cyberspace Administration of China, the ban's purpose is to create a more positive and healthy environment on the internet, especially due to the allegedly problematic among of star-chasing and gossip that has come to impact their cultural values.
Kris Wu is not the only one who has been banned from live-streaming in China, as the ban list included 87 other celebrities. Those who are included in the list are said to be celebrities who violate ethics and have allegedly promoted ostentatious wealth and encouraged fans to spend money on them, among others.
Meanwhile, after the Chinese-Canadian star has been accused of multiple sexual assault cases, Kris Wu has since then been inactive from the entertainment industry.

Kris Wu Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges
Back in July, Kris Wu was accused by Chinese influencer and 19-year-old Du Meizhu of committing sexual assault on multiple women, some underage, while they were under the influence of alcohol and unconscious.
Du Meizhu revealed that she was sexually assaulted by Kris Wu when she was intoxicated and unconscious back when she was 17 years old, and that at least seven other women were victims of the latter with a similar scenario. According to reports, two of the victims were minors at the time of the sexual assault.
Kris Wu initially denied the accusations. However, it was also revealed that Kris Wu's side had attempted to keep the issue under wraps and silence the victims through hush money.
By the end of July, Beijing police had detained Kris Wu and was formally arrested in August on the suspicion of rape. Currently, the case is under investigation.
Since then, numerous brands have dropped the singer-actor, and Chinese online platforms have deleted and banned account his accounts and those related to him (such as fansites). Other alleged victims of Kris Wu had also spoken up to share similar experiences.
At the same time, numerous rumors regarding Kris Wu and his arrest had surfaced online, such as his youngest victim being only 12 years old, having attempted suicide, and already being married with a two-year-old daughter.
