9 Songs BTS Suga Wrote or Produced for Other Artists [Updated 2022]

Suga, also known by his name Agust D for solo promotions, has been writing and producing his own music way before BTS made their debut. With more than a hundred songs credited to him under the Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA), Suga has produced countless hit songs over the years. Though it's not just for BTS or his solo music that he writes and produces for - but for other artists as well!

With that, here are nine songs that Suga wrote or produced for other artists - from Epik High to IU - that are worth checking out!

D-Town - '518-062'

"518-062" is a track produced by Suga back in 2010 from when he was an underground rapper known as Gloss and a member of the hip-hop crew D-Town. Staying true to the kind of music Suga produces, "518-062" was made as a way to remember the Gwangju Democratization Movement that took place from May 18 to May 27 in 1980.

Suran feat. Changmo - 'Wine'

In 2017, Suga collaborated with Suran and produced the song "Wine," alongside Suran herself, June, and Big Hit Music's in-house producer Slow Rabbit. "Wine" is a groovy hip-hop and R&B song that talks about lost love while showcasing Suran's addicting vocals that harmonizes with Changmo's clean rap.

Epik High - 'Eternal Sunshine'

Epik High, who was the catalyst for Suga becoming a rapper, reached out to the BTS member for a song. After two days, "Eternal Sunshine" was born!

Produced by Suga along with Tablo, Mithra Jin, and El Capitxn, "Eternal Sunshine" features a summer beat and talks about optimism and struggles.

Lee So Ra feat. Suga - 'Song Request'

Award-winning ballad singer Lee So Ra had her 2019 single "Song Request" written by Suga alongside Epik High's Tablo. Featuring Suga himself, the emotional song presents the journey of going through love and heartbreak, and taking refuge on a radio to help get through day and night.

Heize feat. Giriboy - 'We don't talk together'

In 2019, Suga produced and wrote Heize's "We don't talk together," an addicting and groovy alternative R&B track that mixes in hip-hop, synths, snares, and clear beats. The song talks about a former couple that has grown apart to the point where they have nothing to say to each other when together.

Halsey feat. Suga - 'Suga's Interlude'

American singer Halsey, who is basically BTS' BFF, dedicated a piece of her "Manic" album to Suga! Produced and written by Suga, "Suga's Interlude" is a ballad that features the Korean rapper's powerful rap and Halsey's soulful voice in a somber piano melody. The song explores multiple themes such as self-loathing, fulfillment, and egotism, while also encouraging others to pursue their dreams.

IU feat. Suga - 'eight'

Putting together two of the top-performing artists is sure to make a great hit!

In 2020, Suga produced and featured in IU's song "eight," a feel-good pop rock song that makes use of trendy rock sounds and acoustic EDM. Lyrically, the song focuses on self-reflection and is about a 28-year-old confessing to using virtual figures and various metaphors.

MAX feat. Suga - 'Blueberry Eyes'

In 2020, Suga featured in American singer-songwriter MAX's "Blueberry Eyes" for their second collaboration, where he is also credited as a writer.

According to MAX, he sent out his entire album "Colour Vision" to Suga, with the latter liking "Blueberry Eyes" the most. Lyrically, the song presents a "sweet, loving, dream world."

ØMI - 'You'

Suga worked as the writer and producer of Japanese singer ØMI, also known as Tosaka Hiroomi's digital single "You," from his 2021 album "ANSWER... SHINE," with the song topping 42 countries on iTunes and charting on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart.

Special Mention: Samsung - 'Over the Horizon'

This year, Suga was chosen by Samsung to reimagine the brand's iconic theme song "Over the Horizon" for Samsung Galaxy. According to Suga, he added a string solo and guitar to give it a more dramatic effect and make it grandeur.
