aespa Karina, Winter, and NingNing gave an update to the fans regarding their COVID-19 test results after showing cold symptoms upon their arrival in Korea following their schedule in the United States.
aespa Karina, Winter and NingNing Update Fans on Their COVID-19 Test Results after Exhibiting Cold Symptoms at the Airport
On Nov. 29, aespa Winter, Karina, and NingNing individually took to the messaging app DearU Bubble to update fans on the results of their COVID-19 tests taken at the Incheon International Airport.
The three members stated that they tested negative for the virus, reassuring fans that they are in good condition.

One day prior to this, aespa came back to Korea after going to New York for the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, where they became the first K-pop girl group in history to perform at the renowned annual event.
However, Giselle entered the country alone as her bandmates NingNing, Winter and Karina underwent COVID-19 testing at the airport due to cold symptoms.
The three aespa members were then held at the Incheon International Airport while they await their COVID-19 test results.
As of writing, SM Entertainment has not yet released an official statement concerning the test results of Karina, Winter and NingNing for the virus.
aespa Performs "Savage" at the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
On another note, aespa performed their new hit song "Savage" at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while they were on the float "Her Future is STEM-sational" by Olay.
According to Macy's, aespa's float "celebrates and inspires" women of all ages "to shoot for the stars in pursuing opportunities, studies and careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)."

The rookie group's float stopped while they performed "Savage" from the first verse until the first chorus. Several individuals dressed in red suits can be seen in front of the girls and are dancing to the song as well.
With their "Savage" performance, aespa not only became the first K-pop girl group to ever perform at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade but also the second K-pop act to do so, following NCT 127. For starters, both aespa and NCT 127 debuted under SM Entertainment.
Back in 2019, NCT 127 was on the "LEGO" float and performed the fan-favorite song "Highway to Heaven."
Apart from aespa, the other artists who performed at the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade were Andy Grammer, Kim Petras, Carrie Underwood, Darren Criss, Tai Verdes, Nelly and more. The event also featured Blue's Clues hosts Joe, Steve and Josh and the cast of Sesame Street.

The 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was attended by 6,500 people and took place in New York City on Nov. 25. It started at 9 a.m. local time at the Upper West Side of Manhattan and ended in Midtown at noon. It was aired live on NBC and featured 15 giant balloons of different characters, 28 floats and performances. Some of the balloons were as high as four-story buildings and as wide as six taxis.
