BLACKPINK Becomes the First Artist to Surpass 70 Million Subscribers in Youtube History

According to BLACKPINK's label YG Entertainment, the four-member group's official Youtube channel had surpassed 70 million subscribers as of November 28 at around 11am KST. This also makes them the first-ever artist to achieve the milestone on the platform.

Most notably, it only took BLACKPINK an impressive five years and five months to hit the milestone, after their Youtube channel was launched back in June 28, 2016.

In addition, BLACKPINK currently holds the title as the artist with the most subscribers on Youtube, surpassing Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who has over 66.4 million subscribers on the platform and currently holds the title as the artist with the second-highest amount of subscribers.

This also earned the "Lovesick Girls" singers a Guinness World Record for being the most subscribed band on Youtube.

In overall, BLACKPINK is currently the 12th most subscribed across all Youtube channels available, with Indian channel T-Series ranking first at 199 million subscribers.

BLACKPINK Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie's Latest Activities

As a whole group, their latest album release was back on October 2, 2020, with their first studio album "The Album," which contained several of their hit songs such as "How You Like That," "Ice Cream," "Pretty Savage," "Lovesick Girls," and "Bet You Wanna."

Recently on August 3, 2021, as part of their debut anniversary celebration, the group released the Japanese version of "The Album," which included the Japanese versions of "Pretty Savage," "You Never Know," "How You Like That," and "Lovesick Girls."

BLACKPINK also released their first film "BLACKPINK The Movie" on August 4, which features live performances from their past concerts, highlights from the group's last five years since their debut, as well as exclusive interviews with each member.

On October 23, the four members participated in Youtube Originals' campaign "Dear Earth," where they delivered a speech that encouraged viewers to become more conscious of the environment, and also performed live their 2016 song "Stay."

On November 3, BLACKPINK continued their run to advocate helping the environment with a speech delivered for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, where they spoke about climate change issues and and environmental protection.

More recently, Lisa collaborated with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion to release the single "SG." While Jisoo is preparing to make her acting debut with "Snowdrop," which is slated to premiere on December 18 KST.
