MONSTA X Kihyun Diet and Workout 2021: Here's How the 'Rush Hour' Singer Keeps His Body Slim

MONSTA X Kihyun has one of the admirable body shapes in the K-pop scene, and it's no doubt that many fans admire him for his impressive physique aside from his talent in singing and dancing. If you're wondering how he maintains a slim figure, then continue reading.

MONSTA X Kihyun's Workout Routine

At the time he made his debut in MONSTA X, Kihyun was known to be a little chubby among fans. Not to mention, he earned the nickname "Hamster" for his chubby cheeks.

However, as a K-pop idol, many people expect him to look slim and so, his only choice is to lose weight.

Back in 2018, MONSTA X sat down for an interview with the Korean media outlet Top Star News after the release of their album "Take.1: Are You There?"

During the talks, the boys were asked to share their secrets to maintaining their looks and physical strength despite having a busy schedule.

Kihyun admitted that many people including himself don't have the time to exercise. He added, "However when I saw Wonho exercising, I realized once again that it [having no time] was just an excuse."

Besides exercising, it was unveiled that practicing their choreography is a natural part of MONSTA X Kihyun's workout routine as well as the members'.

Kihyun detailed, "If you continue to practice for concerts and rehearse choreography, your physical strength will naturally improve. As a matter of fact, singing and dancing for three hours burn lots of calories. This results in my basal metabolic rate becoming so high that I don't seem to get exhausted easily."

When they appeared on JTBC's "Idol Room" in February 2019, it was unveiled that MONSTA X would spend nearly $27,000 per month on food alone. The members, however, claimed that they don't gain weight because of their intense choreography.

Their statement proves that dance practices do play an important role in maintaining their slender figures.

During an interview with Men's Health, MONSTA X answered questions related to diet and working out, and one of them is if the members do weight training. I.M responded, "Every day."

I.M then mentioned Kihyun having a machine at home that helps him stay fit. Kihyun said that this workout machine is ideal for cardio exercises.

MONSTA X member Kihyun is known for his chubby cheeks during his debut era with "Trespass" and "Stuck." As fans have been watching over him since then, they can immediately notice whether he lost weight.

One of these times is when MONSTA X made a comeback with "Hero" back in 2015. Kihyun had such a dramatic weight loss that he developed some toned abs. This led to fans worrying about his health and diet since he was so much lighter than before.

Two years later, the boy group came back with a new album, titled "The Clan Part 2.5: The Final Chapter." During a live broadcast, Kihyun revealed that he only ate half an apple as his meal while filming the music video for "Beautiful," the title song from the said album.

During an interview with Men's Health, the MONSTA X members were asked to share their daily diet. Kihyun shared that he only drinks water and food with probiotics in the morning. Minhyuk then unveiled that they don't usually eat in the morning.

I.M and Joohoney further shared that they consume meat, cabbage, apple, and sweet potato.

While MONSTA X Kihyun's diet consists of not eating any heavy food for breakfast, it may not be suitable for some. It is best to always eat more in the morning and eat less during lunch and dinner time.
