NCT to Perform 'Universe (Let's Play Ball)' for the First Time at 2021 MAMA before Their Official Comeback

NCT is set to perform their upcoming title song "Universe (Let's Play Ball)" for the first time at the 2021 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) prior to its official release.

On Dec. 3, the 2021 MAMA announced that NCT U had been added to the lineup of performing artists at the upcoming awards ceremony.

They added that NCT would premiere "Universe (Let's Play Ball)," the title track of their upcoming album "Universe," at the event scheduled to take place next week.

"Universe (Let's Play Ball)," which was sung by Mark, Haechan, Doyoung, Jeno, YangYang, Xiaojun, Shotaro, Jungwoo and Jaemin, is set for pre-release on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. KST - four days before NCT's new full album drops on Dec. 14.

On Dec. 11, the nine aforementioned NCT members will perform "Universe (Let's Play Ball)" at the 2021 MAMA for the very first time.

Meanwhile, apart from NCT U, male artist, Jannabi has also confirmed his attendance at this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards. Also, both NCT 127 and NCT Dream were previously announced to take part in the awards show as well.

The 2021 MAMA, which will be hosted by Lee Hyori, will be held on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. KST.

In related news, NCT's sub-units are releasing their unit songs from their upcoming album "Universe" one after another.

On Dec. 3, NCT's Chinese unit WayV dropped teasers for "Miracle," one of the B-side songs from "Universe." However, only five members are featured in the teaser photos. Lucas and Winwin are not taking part in NCT's 2021 comeback.

Before WayV, NCT Dream has released their new song "Dreaming," another B-side from "Universe," on Dec. 2. The track video for the track was also uploaded on the same day.

NCT Dream's "Dreaming" is a house-based R&B dance song that contains a story about the members facing their desires that haunt their dreams.

WayV's "Miracle" and NCT Dream's "Dreaming" are just two out of the 13 tracks that will be included in NCT's "Universe." The album will also feature the second title song "Beautiful," which is a pop ballad track that conveys a comforting message that each one of us is special and that we should continue going after our dreams.

"Beautiful" will feature vocals from 21 NCT members, some of which who wrote some of the lyrics of the song. In particular, Hendery, Taeyong, Jeno, Mark, and Johnny penned the rap part of the track.

Meanwhile, "Universe" will be NCT's third album as a full group after their million-selling albums "NCT 202 Resonance Pt. 1" and "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2" was dropped last year.

Expectations are rising whether NCT will break their sales record with "Universe."
