Where are the Former gugudan Members Now? Know Whether They Have New Agencies or None

Jellyfish Entertainment's first and only girl group gugudan unexpectedly disbanded in December 2020 in four years since their debut in 2016, due to unspecified reasons. Following this, some members of the band later left the company to pursue other careers. Where could all the nine gugudan members be now?

About gugudan

Formed in 2016, gugudan consisted of nine members namely Sejeong, Mina, Hana, Nayoung, Mimi, Hyeyeon, Sally, Haebin and Soyee. The girl group dropped their debut EP in June of the same year, titled "Act. 1 The Little Mermaid."

In 2017, gugudan released their second EP and first single album, entitled "Act. 2 Narcissus" and "Act. 3 Chococo Factory" respectively.

Jellyfish Entertainment's girl group went on to drop two more albums in 2018. The nonet even made their Japanese debut in September of the same year, with the single "Stand By." This year also saw Hyeyeon's departure from the band in October due to personal reasons.

In November 2018, gugudan made their first comeback after being reorganized as an eight-member group. They released their third EP "Act. 5 New Action," which comprises six songs including the title track "Not That Type."

"Act. 5 New Action" became the girl group's last music release before they went on a hiatus for two years. gugudan ultimately disbanded in December 2020.

This year, most of the gugudan members decided not to renew their exclusive contacts with Jellyfish Entertainment, while a few of them remained under the company.

Where are the Former gugudan Members Now?

Former gugudan Hyeyeon

As mentioned above, Hyeyeon left gugudan even before the group's disbandment, although it was not announced whether she left Jellyfish Entertainment, so many assume she's still under the agency.

Former gugudan Hana

In April this year, former gugudan leader Hana announced that she has departed from Jellyfish Entertainment and in four months, it was revealed that she has found a new agency, FN Entertainment.

FN Entertainment shared that former gugudan member Hana has signed with them as an actress and will now use her real name, Shin Bora. The former singer previously appeared in different web series this year including "Nara's Marvelous Days" and "Mr. LEE."

Former gugudan Mimi

Mimi is one of the first gugudan members who parted ways with Jellyfish Entertainment. She announced her departure in March this year.

To date, there are no reports or announcements that Mimi has joined a new agency. But, she regularly updates her Instagram account and uploads videos to her YouTube channel. Follow her Instagram and subscribe to her channel to get updated on her activities.

Former gugudan Soyee

Soyee is another former gugudan member who left Jellyfish Entertainment in March this year. So far, she has not revealed whether she joined a new company.

But, like Mimi, Soyee is also active in posting photos on her Instagram account and videos on her YouTube channel.

Former gugudan Haebin

In April this year, former gugudan's main vocalist Haebin announced that she chose not to renew her contract with Jellyfish Entertainment.

Two months later, the official blog for "I'm From Vocal Academy" announced that they recruited Haebin as their new vocal trainer, which is her current job at present.

Former gugudan Nayoung

Like Haebin, Nayoung announced her departure from Jellyfish Entertainment this past April. She is also yet to sign with a new agency for her activities as a singer or to start a new career elsewhere.

Former gugudan member Nayoung is also active in posting images on her Instagram account. You can follow her to get more updates about her.

Former gugudan Sejeong

Unlike most of her former bandmates, Kim Sejeong renewed her contract with Jellyfish Entertainment and has been continuing her activities both as a singer and an actress.

Sejeong's latest music release is the digital single "Baby I Love U," which is a remake of the same name originally sung by Japanese singer TEE.

Meanwhile, her most recent drama is the SBS drama adaptation of the famous webtoon "A Business Proposal."

Former gugudan Mina

Mina is another former gudugan member who didn't leave Jellyfish Entertainment. However, she didn't continue being a singer under the label and focused on being an actress instead.

This year, Mina was cast in the web drama "Summer Guys," which premiered in March. She also made a cameo appearance in tvN's drama "My Roommate is a Gumiho."

Former gugudan Sally

Lastly, former gugudan member Sally is currently promoting as a member of the project girl group "BonBon Girls 303," which was formed through the Chinese version of "Produce 101," called "Produce Camp 2020."

BonBon Girls 303 debuted in June 2020 and will promote as a group in China for two years. Afterward, it is unclear whether Sally will remain an artist under Jellyfish Entertainment.
