On Dec. 11, the brand reputation rankings of boy groups for December 2021 have been released, and K-pop's trio, EBS (EXO, BTS and SEVENTEEN), secured the first three places, once again proving their solid popularity in their home country.
The Korean Business Research Institute was able to come up with the final brand reputation rankings through an analysis of the four indexes (media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community) of the K-pop boy groups, using big data gathered from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11.
This brand reputation analysis measures the positive and negative evaluations of boy groups.
BTS, SEVENTEEN and EXO Take Top 3 in the 2021 December Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings
BTS took first place with a brand reputation index of 8,730,664, which shows a 46.60 percent increase in their score since November. This is the 43rd consecutive month that the septet topped the list.

According to the Korean Business Research Institute, BTS' high-ranking phrases included "ARMY," "Super Tuna" and "Instagram." It can be recalled that the members of the boy group launched their personal Instagram accounts in eight years since their debut. And, BTS member Jin dropped his self-composed song "Super Tuna."
Meanwhile, BTS' highest-ranking related terms were "surpass," "award," "selected." About the "award," the septet won multiple awards from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11 including the prizes at the 2021 American Music Awards.

Following BTS in the 2021 December boy group brand reputation rankings, the million-seller group SEVENTEEN places second with a brand reputation index of 3,541,815. Last month, the "Rock with you" singers was also in second place.
Coming in third place is EXO, who ranked fourth in the previous month. The sextuple million-seller has a brand reputation index of 2,592,445 this month.
MONSTA X and NCT Enter the Top 5 of the 2021 December Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings
Taking the fourth spot on the list is MONSTA X, which has a brand reputation index of 2,581,681, marking a 59.37 percent rise in their score since last month. The "LOVE KILLA" singers were in tenth place in the past month, which means the boy group was more popular this month than in October.
MONSTA X's rise in the rankings may be attributed to their tenth Korean mini-album "No Limit," their new English album "The Dreaming" and their feature film that was released in more than 70 countries worldwide.

NCT secured fifth place in the boy group brand reputation rankings for December 2021 with a brand reputation index of 2,396,510. The boy group previously ranked third on the list.
While NCT is down by two spots, the band remained in the Top 5 thanks to their new full group album "Universe," which they have been teasing since Dec. 1.
