BLACKPINK Lisa Becomes First Female K-pop Soloist in History to Debut on Pop Radio Airplay Chart

BLACKPINK Lisa has made history on Billboard Pop Radio Airplay chart with her B-side "MONEY"!

BLACKPINK Lisa is the First Female K-pop Soloist Ever to Land on Pop Radio Airplay Chart

On Dec. 14 local time, Billboard revealed that Lisa has made her first appearance as a soloist on the Pop Radio Airplay chart, which ranks the most famous pop songs being played in Top 40 radio stations across the United States based on weekly plays.

For the week ending on Dec. 18, BLACKPINK Lisa's "MONEY" debuted on the Billboard chart at No. 40. This makes Lisa the first and only female K-pop soloist in history to enter the Pop Radio Airplay chart.

Additionally, the Thai rapper is the third K-pop soloist to ever achieve this milestone. The two other singers are PSY (with his global hit "Gangnam Style") and BTS Suga (as a featured artist on MAX's "Blueberry Eyes").

While this is the first time for Lisa as a soloist to debut on Pop Radio Airplay Chart, her group BLACKPINK already entered the chart last year with "Ice Cream" their hit collab with Selena Gomez.

Aside from appearing on this week's Pop Radio Airplay Chart, BLACKPINK Lisa's "MONEY" also entered the latest Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., extending its own record as the longest-running song by a K-pop soloist on both charts.

Marking its 13th week on the two Billboard charts, "MONEY" ranked No. 30 on the Global Excl. U.S. and charted at No. 53 on the Global 200. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Lisa's solo title song "LALISA" remained at No. 198 on the Global Excl. U.S.

Additionally, "LALISA" climbed up to No. 9 on this week's Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart after being at No. 15 last week.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK Lisa on his historic Billboard achievement!

BLACKPINK Lisa Scores Incredible Milestone on the Canadian Hot 100

In other news, BLACKPINK member Lisa attained another milestone on the Canadian songs chart.

Despite the Christmas songs surging on the main singles chart in the country, a tune from Lisa manages to stay strong on the chart, and by doing so, the track has made history.

BLACKPINK Lisa's "MONEY" entered this week's Canadian Hot 100, which ranks as the most popular tunes in the northern country. The song descended to No. 83 after being at No. 79 in the past week.

Even though it's continuing its downward trek, "MONEY" obtained a very rare achievement among K-pop releases. It is now the longest-running K-pop song on the Canadian Hot 100 after marking its tenth week on the tally.

This feat also makes BLACKPINK Lisa is now the first female soloist in history to spend 10 weeks on the Canadian songs chart. Considering the soloists (both men and women) who entered the chart, Lisa is only the second solo artist to do so.

In the past, PSY was present on the Canadian Hot 100 for 100 weeks (or more), which he managed to do so twice with his hit songs "Gangnam Style" (still the only tune from an international artist to hit No. 1 in Canada and spent half a year in the rankings) and "Gentleman" (which managed to stay on the tally for 13 weeks).
