aespa, IVE, Stray Kids and More K-pop Artists to Perform at the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon

The full lineup of performing artists for the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon has been revealed. And, according to the list, viewers can expect performances from both soloists and idol groups including Stray Kids, IVE, aespa, SHINee Key and more!

2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon Lineup: IVE, aespa, Stray Kids and More Confirmed to Attend the Year-End Music Festival

On Dec. 16, the organizers of the SBS Gayo Daejeon unveiled this year's list of artists who will attend and also perform at the annual year-end show.

On the list, top K-pop girl groups such as Red Velvet, Oh My Girl and Brave Girls are included. Fans can also expect fourth-generation female groups like ITZY, STAYC, aespa and IVE to be present at the music festival.

In particular, this will be the first time that IVE will participate in SBS Gayo Daejeon as they only debuted in November this year.

Several K-pop boy groups are joining these female artists as well, including the million-seller groups NCT 127, NCT Dream and Stray Kids. The third-generation male groups like ASTRO and NU'EST will also give spectacular performances at the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon.

TXT, The Boyz, ATEEZ and ENHYPEN, who all proved their growth this year through their new music releases, will also take part in the annual year-end program.

Further, the full lineup of performers at the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon includes female and male soloists including WOODZ (Cho Seung Youn), (G)I-DLE Minnie, SF9 Taeyang, Lee Hi, Simon Dominic, Loco, Gray and Lee Chae Yeon.

This year's SBS Gayo Daejeon will go with the theme "Welcome" and will be held offline for the first time since 2019. Viewers can anticipate special collaboration stages that cannot be seen anywhere else. Moreover, SHINee Key, ITZY Yuna and Boom will serve as the show's hosts this year.

2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon will take place at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon on Dec. 25 at 6 p.m. KST.

About SBS Gayo Daejeon and Its Previous Awards Ceremony

SBS Gayo Daejeon is an annual music festival that airs live on the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) at the end of each year, along with the KBS Song Festival and MBC Gayo Daejejeon. It was first held in 1997 and gave awards to musical artists from that year until 2006. The awards ceremony portion was brought back in 2014.

Some of the awards given during the previous SBS Gayo Daejeon were Album Grand Prize, Song Grand Prize, Top Ten Artists, Rookie Awards, Best Male Group and the likes.

When the awards ceremony was revived in 2014, the artists who took home a daesang were EXO (Album Grand Prize with "Overdose") and Soyou and Junggigo (Song Grand Prize with "Some").

The Top Ten Artists were EXO, AKMU, 2NE1, SISTAR, Girl's Day, Taeyang, INFINITE, Ailee, Best and Apink.

While the Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer went to Taeyang and Ailee respectively, the Best Male Group and Best Female Group were received by EXO and 2NE1. Additionally, WINNER won the Rookie Award, 2PM won the Global Star Award and CNBLUE won the Best Band Award.

These artists became the last to be awarded at SBS Gayo Daejeon as the awards ceremony of the year-end music festival was discontinued in 2015.
