2021 was a good year for girl groups. Here are some of the most notable debuts from female K-pop groups!
1. bugAboo - bugAboo
bugAboo debuted with a self-titled single album and title track on October 25, 2021.

Many highly anticipated this girl group, as two members — Eunchae and Choyeon — were two former contestants on the Mnet survival show "Produce 48."
2. Billlie - RING X RING
Billlie debuted with "RING X RING" on November 10, 2021. Billlie made their debut as the first girl group under Mystic Story. Their line-up included former YG Entertainment trainee and younger sister of ASTRO's Moon Bin, Moon Sua. The group also contains "A-TEEN" star Suhyeon and two former SM Entertainment trainees, Haram and Tsuki.

Following their debut, former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Kim Suyeon was added to the group.
3. IVE - ELEVEN
IVE made their debut with "ELEVEN" on December 1, 2021. The Starship Entertainment girl group made history as the fastest female K-pop group to achieve a music show win, doing so a week after their debut.

"ELEVEN" topped the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart and peaked at number r nine on the World Digital Song Sales chart.
4. LIGHTSUM - Vanilla
LIGHTSUM debuted on June 10 with the single "Vanilla." Many anticipated this group's debut, as members Chowon, Nayoung and Yujeong all competed on "Produce 48."

Chowon specifically received the most attention, as it was revealed earlier this year that she was rigged out of the IZ*ONE line-up.
5. TRI.BE - DOOM DOOM TA
TRI.BE made their official debut with "DOOM DOOM TA" on February 17, 2021. The song was produced by legendary K-pop producer Shisandong Tiger and idol LE of EXID.

The same day the song was released, TRI.BE signed with Republic Records.
6. PIXY - Wings
PIXY debuted on February 24, 2021, with the digital single "Wings." People were looking forward to their debut as member Ella was a former member and the former leader of Cherry Bullet.

During her time with the group, she used the stage name Mirae.
7. HOT ISSUE - GRATATA
HOT ISSUE made their debut on April 28, 2021, with the lead single "GRATATA." Before their debut, the group held a live showcase at the Yes24 Hour Live Hall in Seoul.

The following day, they made their official music show debut on "M! Countdown."
8. PURPLE KISS - Ponzona
PURPLE KISS debuted on March 15, 2021, with the lead single "Ponzona." The group made headlines as the first girl group under RBW since MAMAMOO's debut in 2014. Before their debut, the group owned a YouTube channel, "365 Practice," where they uploaded training clips.
