NCT's Cumulative Album Sales for 2021 Surpasses 10 Million Album Copies

For this year alone, NCT has surpassed 10 million album copies sold for all of their albums released in 2021 combined!

NCT's Cumulative Album Sales for 2021 Surpasses 10 Million Album Copies

According to NCT's label SM Entertainment on December 28 KST, NCT and their related units such as NCT DREAM, NCT 127, and WayV, have recorded a cumulative album sales figure of 9,056,000 copies for all of their albums released from each unit this year, excluding December, combined.

SM Entertainment also revealed that the album sales recorded in December alone was more than 1,855,000 album copies, bringing the total cumulative sales figure in 2021 to 10,911,000 as of December 27.

In particular, NCT DREAM released their first regular album "Hot Sauce" back in May, which recorded a pre-order sales figure of more than 1.7 million album copies, which broke their previous record for their fourth mini-album "Reload" with a 243 percent increase.

Following its release, "Hot Sauce" recorded more than two million album copies sold.

NCT DREAM subsequently released its repackaged album "Hello Future" in June, which contained an additional three new tracks to the current songs of "Hot Sauce." The two albums combined sold about 3.31 million copies, making NCT DREAM receive the title of "Triple Million-Sellers."

For NCT 127, they released their third regular album "Sticker" in September. Prior to its release, "Sticker" had 1.13 million album pre-orders in just 24 hours. This made "Sticker" the K-Pop album to have the highest number of pre-orders in just a day.

Pre-orders for "Sticker" increased to 2.2 million, and a week after the album's release, it recorded a total of 2.4 million albums sold, making it the first album by an SM Entertainment artist to record over two million albums sold without a repackaged album.

NCT 127 eventually released "Sticker"'s repackaged album "Favorite" in October. "Favorite" recorded 1.06 million pre-orders, and sold more than 1.1 million copies a week after the album's release.

Both albums has a cumulative sales figure of more than 3.62 million album copies, making it the best-selling album by SM Entertainment and among its artists.

In addition, NCT's (also known as NCT 2021) third regular album "Universe," which was released just back on December 14, had reportedly sold more than 1.74 million album copies so far. Prior to its release, "Universe" had 1.1 million album pre-orders.

NCT's "Universe" album features 21 of the 23 members of NCT, with Winwin and Lucas unable to participate.

"Universe" features a total of 13 songs: "New Axis," "Universe (Let's Play Ball)," "Earthquake," "OK!," "Birthday Party," "Know Now," "Dreaming," "Round&Round," "Miracle," "Vroom," "Sweet Dream," "Good Night," and "Beautiful."

The album topped Gaon's album charts, and peaked at No. 5 on Oricon's album charts in Japan. "Universe" also landed at No. 16 on Billboard Japan's Hot Albums chart.

Meanwhile, NCT is set to perform at the 2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon this coming December 31 KST.
