Red Velvet Irene Draws Worry After Appearing to Lose Weight
On January 1, SM Entertainment held their "SMTOWN LIVE 2022" online concert on YouTube. The concert was live-streamed for fans for free, and viewers could watch their favorite artists perform in real-time.

On this day, Red Velvet performed their hit songs, such as "Queendom," "Pose" and "Psycho." Their splendid stage drew people's attention, and many praised the girl group for their show-stopping performances.

While all the members shined on stage, one member caused viewers to worry due to how thin her face looked. That member is Irene, the group's oldest member, leader and visual.
Although Irene still looked beautiful and all of her features looked similar to how they did in the past, her cheeks appeared sunken. In addition, viewers stated that they noticed she lost a tremendous amount of weight even at first glance.

After finishing their performance, the camera zoomed into Irene's face for a close-up as she spoke about her plans in 2022. Unfortunately, seeing her face up close only caused viewers to grow even more concerned, with some saying that the Red Velvet member looked emaciated.
During her ending comment, Irene told viewers, "We will show you a lot of great activities this year, so I hope you will continue to stick by us."

Red Velvet Recent Activities
On January 1, Red Velvet performed at SM Entertainment's annual SMTOWN LIVE concert. This year's concert was titled "SMTOWN 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @KWANGYA."
On December 10, 2021, SM Entertainment revealed that Red Velvet would be released their first Japanese studio album, "Bloom," on February 2, 2022.
