Gaon Chart Holds 'We Pick! Awards 2021'
Meanwhile, the Korea Music Contents Association plans to introduce year-end closing content that introduces data outside of the charts across nine themes through Gaon Chart's Facebook and Instagram on January 10.
Gaon Chart collaborated with Instagram to prepare a new concept award ceremony, "We Pick! Awards 2021," which ranks the charts with songs of the featured artists.
"We Pick! Awards" is a unique type of awards ceremony that ranks the charts only with the songs of the artists who appeared on a livestream and announces the winners from the artists who participated during the event, unlike the other music awards where artists are nominated first.

The top five artists selected as a result of the fan-voting conducted by releasing the content on Instagram in advance, and the top five Gaon chart picks counted based on the objective data of the Gaon Chart, will be revealed on the show.
In particular, the top five fan picks were calculated by adding up the number of likes and comments on the releases uploaded to Instagram, the number of releases created by fans with the song during the voting period, and online voting results on the Gaon Chart official website.
Fans who participated in the "We Pick! Awards" showed a warm response, producing a total of 9,399,204 likes, 100,262 comments, and 2,717 releases.
