Kep1er Chaehyun to Become the New 'The Show' MC, According to a News Outlet
On Jan. 10, the local media outlet OSEN issued an exclusive report stating that Kim Chaehyun was chosen as the new host for the music program "The Show" that airs on SBS MTV every Tuesday at 6 p.m. KST.
In December 2021, "The Show" announced that ATEEZ Yeosang, Weeekly Jihan and WEi Kim Yohan will leave their roles as the shows' hosts. The trio started hosting together on March 2 of last year, which means they will step down after nine months.

The last episode featuring them as the MCs is the year-end special broadcast on Dec. 14 with a lineup of performers including ATEEZ, GHOST9, B.I.G, Cignature, IVE, Billlie, PARK KOON, EVERGLOW, T1419, Ahn Yeeun, JISANGCHEONHA and Pastel Girls.
Kim Chaehyun made her debut as the center of Kep1er, a project girl group formed through Mnet's latest girl group survival show "Girls Planet 999," which ended in October of last year. As she showcased her outstanding vocal skills with her unrivaled tone during her time on the show, she earned the nickname "Voice Fairy."

Kep1er Chaehyun is also known as a former SM trainee who had the same training period as the aespa members (Karina, Winter, Ningning and Giselle). In fact, she revealed that aespa congratulated her on her debut.
As of writing, SBS MTV's "The Show" nor the agency of Kep1er member Kim Chaehyun has released an official statement to confirm the news. It is also uncertain whether other K-pop idols will join her as the show's host.

About Kim Chaehyun and Her Debut in Kep1er with the Group's First Mini-Album 'FIRST IMPACT'
Kim Chaehyun is the "Girls Planet 999" contestant who successfully ranked first in the show's final episode after gaining over one million votes. It was revealed during the announcing of winners that Chaehyun received the most votes in Korea.
When she was competing in "Girls Planet 999," she was a representative of WAKE ONE Entertainment, which currently co-manages Kep1er with Swing Entertainment.

Kim Chaehyun and the eight other "Girls Planet 999" winners were originally set to debut as Kep1er on Dec. 14 but it was postponed after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. It was then scheduled on Jan. 3, and on that day, the project girl group released their first mini-album "FIRST IMPACT."
Kep1er's "FIRST IMPACT" is composed of six songs including the title track "WA DA DA." The album broke the highest first-day sales of any girl group debut album in the history of the Hanteo Chart. A total of 150,153 copies were sold on Jan. 3. It surpassed aespa's "Savage," which only sold 147,195 copies.
As of Jan. 4 at 10 p.m. KST, "FIRST IMPACT" placed first iTunes Album charts in 11 countries including Japan, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines and more.
