Kep1er recently sat down with Forbes senior contributor Jeff Benjamin to talk about their debut and career. There, they opened up about "Girls Planet 999" and if they still keep in touch with the other contestants of the show.

Kep1er Speaks About Their Experience on 'Girls Planet 999'
On January 10, Forbes shared their interview with Kep1er, done by contributor Jeff Benjamin. The members discussed their time on "Girls Planet 999," getting honest about their time on the show.
The members revealed that several moments did not make the broadcast. Kang Yeseo revealed one of the most memorable moments that was not aired was that the contestants all had bead-making accessories kits. The contestants would bead bracelets and give them as presents to one another, no matter what national group you were in. The contestants would also share beaded rings.

When asked about a moment that stood out, Kim Dayeon recalled a mission were Team "Snake" had to shoot outdoors and go to a sweet potato farm. There, they harvested sweet potatoes. She commented that it stood out because of how hard the work was.
During the interview, it was noted that "Girls Planet 999" could get intense and emotional. When asked who they leaned on during those challenging moments, Kang Yeseo named fellow Kep1er members Huening Bahiyyih, Shen Xiaoting, Choi Yujin, and Mashiro. She leaned on them because she was one of the youngest contestants, and they were the older trainees.

Kang Yeseo revealed that they would talk about hard times together. Whenever she had a problem or wondered how to do something better, she would seek out the older trainees. They always gave her great advice, nothing that Mashiro significantly helped her during those times.
Seo Youngeun named May from J-Group, who previously made her debut as a member of Cherry Bullet. She revealed that May would often reach out to her during the show, sharing her experiences and giving her advice when she had hard times.
Kep1er Reveals Whether or Not They Still Keep in Touch With Past Contestants
During the interview, the Kep1er members were asked about their relationships with the other "Girls Planet 999" contestants and if they had heard from anyone before their debut. Hikaru revealed that she keeps in touch with the other J-Group members, especially Nonaka Shana.
Hikaru states that ahead of Kep1er's debut, they would message each other about how they did a good job on the performance videos released on YouTube. Hikaru also said, "I will be really happy if we can see each other on stage one day."

Kep1er was also asked if they reminisced on big moments from the show. Kim Chaehyun stated that the "Shine" performance from the finale of "Girls Planet 999" was really special since it was their last performance as a big group. She said, "It was really touching."
For Choi Yujin, she personally liked the performance of "Utopia," which was performed by Kim Bora, Huang Xingqiao, Kawaguchi Yurina, Kim Chaehyun, and Kang Yeseo (with the latter two debuting as Kep1er members). Though Choi Yujin did not perform in the show, she saw the other members practicing and thought the song showed their charms well.
