IU is the Most Searched Female Idol on YouTube Korea in 2021
According to YouTube statistics, from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, IU ranked first as the most searched female idol on YouTube in South Korea.
This is most likely due to the hit songs IU released in 2021. On January 27, 2021, IU released the single "Celebrity" as a pre-release to her album, "LILAC." The said album was then released on March 25, 2021, and was an immediate commercial success. All the songs in the album charted in the top 30 of the Gaon Digital chart, and "LILAC" debuted at the top of the Gaon Album Chart.

Older IU songs also became extremely popular on social media again following the release of "LILAC." Many internet users took to YouTube to listen to her music and re-watch her music videos.
On October 19, 2021, IU released the digital single "strawberry moon." Even in the last month of 2021, IU made sure to leave with a bang. On December 29, IU released the special album "PIeces."

Girls' Generation Taeyeon is the Second Most Searched Female Idol on YouTube Korea in 2021
Ranking in second place is Girls' Generation member and soloist Taeyeon. Like IU, Taeyeon's views most likely come from her release in 2021.
On May 18, 2021, Taeyeon featured on Taemin's song "If I Could Tell You." Then, on July 6, 2021, Taeyeon made her comeback with "Weekend." The song rose to number four on the Gaon Digital Chart and the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 chart.

On August 30, 2021, Taeyeon featured on Key's song "Hate That..." She also recorded the OST "Little Garden" for the drama "Jirisan" on November 28, 2021.
Taeyeon's searches also come from her variety show appearances. Taeyeon is currently a cast member of the variety show "Amazing Saturday" and is a co-host on the show "Petkage." Additionally, in August 2021, the members of Girls' Generation all appeared on "Yoo Quiz on the Block."
