'They Eat CDs for Breakfast' — These 10 K-pop Groups are Praised for Their Amazing Live Vocals

These 10 K-pop groups have such amazing live vocals, people are convinced they eat their CDs for breakfast!

1. Kep1er

Kep1er won their first music show win on January 13, 2022, and showed off their live vocals during their encore stage. Many were surprised that all the members sang loudly, singing all their parts and that each member was highly stable. During a time where both old and new groups are criticized for their live vocals, Kep1er was praised for the impressive performance!

2. ITZY

ITZY has super strong dance skills and is "Not Shy" when performing live! On August 19, 2020, JYP Entertainment uploaded ITZY's "Not Shy" stage practice. Many were surprised that the members not only danced the complicated choreography but performed the song live. In addition, many were shocked that the girls sounded just like their studio version, proving their vocal skills are top-tier.

3. Red Velvet

Red Velvet is a group known for their amazing vocals. Their vocal-line, Wendy, Seulgi and Joy, are all well-known for their singing abilities. The girls received tremendous praise for their "Queendom" encore stage, with people saying that Red Velvet's live vocals never fail to meet expectations. Wendy, in particular, always receives praise, with some saying she sounds better live than in the audio version.

4. EXO

When EXO first debuted, the boys were criticized for their dance and vocals. However, after years of hard work and constant training, EXO became a boy group praised for the live performances. The MR-removed versions of "Tempo" and "Ko Ko Bop" have gone viral in the past, showing that EXO can sing live while dancing such complex choreographies. No wonder junior groups look up to EXO!

5. MAMAMOO

This list would be incomplete without MAMAMOO. The group is known to be highly vocal-heavy, to the point where MAMAMOO often finds it harder to lip-sync and would much rather sing live for all of their performances. Their live vocals are often louder than their backing tracks when they perform on stage!

6. GFRIEND

GFRIEND is known for their intricate choreographies, but their singing should not be looked down on! Internet users praised their vocals for years, with people complimenting the girls for singing stably live despite their "knife choreography."

7. BTS

BTS is another boy group known for their complex and tiring dances. Despite that, BTS is also a group that sings live despite their exhausting performances. The MR-removed versions of "FAKE LOVE" and "IDOL" have gone viral in the past, proving that BTS sounds just like their studio version despite how much movement is needed to dance.

8. Girls' Generation

Girls' Generation's debut track "Into the New World" is often used to test female trainees' vocal skills — does this not prove that SNSD is THE standard in K-pop? The song is high-pitched and has several high notes, and the "Ballad Version" of the song is even more difficult to perform. Despite that, the members perform the song live flawlessly. They are worthy of the title "The Nation's Girl Group."

9. BTOB

Some say BTOB's vocal skills are at the level of a vocal coach because of how good they are. When they perform, the members sing live and are always stable. When they have to lip-sync, BTOB often fails to do so. This is because they are much better at singing live!

10. (G)I-DLE

(G)I-DLE is another group that was criticized for their vocals when they debuted but later proved they can sing live. During their appearance on "You Heeyeol's Sketchbook," (G)I-DLE sang love and proved their outstanding vocals. Some state that their performance was like a slap on the face to internet users who doubted their abilities!
