BTS, TWICE, More: Mubeat Announces Top 10 'Best Artist of 2021,' ENHYPEN, Somi Tops 'Artists Who Are Expected to Shine in 2022'

Global K-pop platform Mubeat released its "Year-End Settlement in 2021"! For the "Best Artists" category, BTS, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, IU, etc., dominated. Meanwhile, the "artists who are expected to shine in 2022" include ENHYPEN, Somi, and more.

BTS, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, IU, More Names as 2021 'Best Artist' by Mubeat

On the morning of January 20, K-pop platform Mubeat announced the best artists of 2021 selected through fandom data. "BTS was selected as the No. 1 overall artist in the 2021 K-pop Year-end Settlement through the " fandom lab" which collects compiled music, albums, videos, and voting data."

"NCT DREAM, NCT 127, SEVENTEEN, Lim Young Woong, aespa, IU, TWICE, ITZY, and Stray Kids followed," Mubeat added.

In each category, IU ranked No.1 in music source, SEVENTEEN crowned as first in the album, BTS in video views, while Lim Young Woong got the first place in the voting. Overall, BTS was crowned as No.1 "Best Artist."

In particular, IU established her popularity by being the only solo K-pop idol named in the top 10 artists. Lim Young Woong also raised the honor of the trot industry, entering the rankings and showing his status as an "icon of K-trot."

Along with them, "Fourth-Gen Representative Groups" aespa, ITZY, and Stray Kids strengthened their power and influence in the K-pop scene as they were also included in the Top 10.

Lastly, "Third-Gen Leaders" NCT 127 and NCT Dream, TWICE, as well as SEVENTEEN flaunted their position as some of the most popular K-pop groups in the top10, along with BTS.

Furthermore, Mubeat also released a list of K-pop artists who are expected to strengthen their popularity and influence in 2022.

In the female category, Jeon Somi who established her career as a solo artist with her first full-length album, "XOXO" on Oct. 29 last year, enter the list. As she gears up for a new release this year, the K-pop industry is focused if what new feats the soloist will earn in 2022.

Along with her is STAYC who immediately secured their spot as a "rookie monster" group just about two years after their debut in 2020. There is an anticipation of what they will show this year to level up in the music industry.

Meanwhile, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN and TXT were selected in the male category. As ATEEZ and TXT continue to rise in the K-pop scene, particularly in the international market, ENHYPEN also imprinted their skyrocketing career after recording 630,000 pre-order stock on Jan. 8 for their first repackaged album, "DIMENSION: ANSWER."

There are a lot of K-pop enthusiasts who expressed their curiosity over their worldview concept, presented through their webtoon series, "Dark Moon: The Blood Altar," released on Jan. 16.
