Sunye Shares What J.Y. Park Did after She Told Him Her Decision to Leave Wonder Girls and Get Married
On the Jan. 20 broadcast of tvN's "Mom Is An Idol," former Wonder Girls member Sunye reunited with her former producer J.Y. Park and her former bandmate Sunmi through two performances.
Apart from the stages, the recent episode also featured Sunye, Sunmi and J.Y. Park taking the time to look back on the previous years they were together, including the time Sunye decided to leave Wonder Girls and get married.

Back on Jan. 26, 2013, Sunye married her Korean-Canadian boyfriend who is actively involved in missionary work. The two met during missionary work in Haiti.
While Sunye didn't leave Wonder Girls after tying the knot, she did go on a hiatus that lasted for two years. She officially departed from the group in 2015 to focus on her family life.
During the "Mom Is An Idol" broadcast, Sunye said that when she wanted to quit being a Wonder Girls member and get married, J.Y. Park congratulated her wholeheartedly and didn't give any conditions or restrictions.

The former Wonder Girls member also said that J.Y. Park sang a congratulatory song at her wedding. "I'm always grateful," she continued.
In response to what Sunye said, J.Y. Park stated that he was worried when Sunye told him that she would be getting married at a young age. "She was going from the leader of the nation's No. 1 girl group to an ordinary housewife," he added.
The hitmaker went on to say that he was happy for her but he also has concerns. Despite having concerns, he believed in Sunye as he knows that she is a responsible person.

J.Y. Park further said, "I'm sure that there were things she wasn't able to tell me before. But, she didn't because she wanted to prove that her decision was the right thing to do."
Sunye then unveiled what she wanted to perform on a duet stage with J.Y Park. She explained that he was always there for her during the most important moments of her life. She added that Park told her he would sing a duet song with her whenever she asks for it.
Sunye's Last Music Release in South Korea as a Wonder Girls Member
Before getting married and going on a hiatus, Sunye had the last comeback as a Wonder Girls member.
On June 3, Wonder Girls returned with their third EP "Wonder Party." The album was made available in two versions: standard and deluxe. The standard EP had six songs while the deluxe version had three additional tracks which make it nine total songs.
The album's title song "Like This" earned the girl group the "Song of the Month" (July) at the 2013 Gaon Chart Music Awards. It also won the girls five music show wins.
Moreover, Wonder Girls' "Wonder Party" sold over 25,000 copies in the first month of release on the Gaon Chart.
