BLINKs have taken to social media to trend #WeWantBlackpinkMusic, demanding YG Entertainment to release a statement concerning BLACKPINK's comeback and activities.

#WeWantBlackpinkMusic - BLINKs Demand YG Entertainment to Release Statement Concerning BLACKPINK's Comeback

On January 24, 2022, BLINKs took to Twitter to demand a statement from YG Entertainment concerning BLACKPINK's comeback, Jisoo's solo debut, and Jennie's solo comeback.

Internet users noted that BLACKPINK's last comeback was in October 2021 with "THE ALBUM." It has been over a year since BLACKPINK has returned as a whole group, and many are demanding a statement as to when BLACKPINK will be releasing new music as a quartet. If 2022 passes by without a comeback, it will be two years.

BLACKPINK's last official activity as a group was their online virtual concert, "THE SHOW," on January 31, 2021. The girl group released a Japanese version of "THE ALBUM" on August 3, 2021, but they did not promote the release in the country and only performed the Japanese version as a group a handful of times.

Anxiety among fans is high, as it is reportedly BLACKPINK's last year in their exclusive contract. As contract negotiations will soon be underway, many are hoping that the girl group will have at least one more comeback before that time.

BLINKs Demand Update on BLACKPINK Jisoo's Solo Debut

It was also noted that in YG Entertainment's statement concerning BLACKPINK's member solo release plans, which was issued on June 1, 2020, they stated that Jisoo's solo single was preparing to be released. However, reports said that YG Entertainment was just waiting for Jisoo to finish filming her drama, "Snowdrop."

"Snowdrop" concluded filming on July 2021. The drama will finish airing on January 30, 2022. As Jisoo has already wrapped up filming in 2021, many had hoped that YG Entertainment would release an update on her solo debut. However, the company never made further updates on the idol's debut as a soloist.

BLINKs Demand Statement Concerning BLACKPINK Jennie Solo Comeback

Another BLACKPINK member fans want an update on is Jennie. Since her solo debut with "SOLO" in November 2018, Jennie has not released any music as a soloist. Many wondered why she was not given a comeback, as "SOLO" was a commercial success in South Korea.

"SOLO" topped the Gaon Digital Chart for 13 consecutive weeks and remained in the top 100 for 33 weeks. Additionally, the single album debuted at number two on the Gaon Chart. Furthermore, "SOLO" debuted at the top of the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart. "SOLO" is certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) as it has surpassed 100 million streams and 2.5 million paid digital downloads.
