BTS V Scores Historic Record on Billboard Global Excl. US as First Korean Male Soloist to Do So

BTS V has made history on Billboard after his "Our Beloved Summer" OST, titled "Christmas Tree," made this week's Billboard Global Excl. US.

BTS V Attains Historic Feat on Billboard Global Excl. US with "Christmas Tree"

On Jan. 25, Billboard published its Global Excl. US for the week ending on Jan. 29. This chart ranks the most popular songs in over 200 different countries around the world, excluding the United States, based on streaming and sales data.

One of the songs that entered this week's list is BTS V's "Christmas Tree." The Korean OST broke into the Top 100, claiming the No. 97 spot. Although the song climbed down in the rankings as it was at No. 92 in the previous week, the notable thing here is the number of weeks it has charted.

After debuting on the Billboard Global Excl. US dated Jan. 8, "Christmas Tree" has now spent three weeks in a row on the tally. This makes BTS V the first Korean male soloist to achieve this milestone. Naturally, the "Our Beloved Summer" OST by V also becomes the first song by a Korean male solo artist to do so.

BTS V's "Christmas Tree" already set a historic record on Global Excl. US at the time it debuted on the chart. It entered at No. 43, the highest rank for a Korean OST and a song by a Korean male soloist.

In addition to becoming the first Korean male soloist to spend three weeks on the Billboard Global Excl. US, V attained a separate milestone on Billboard Global 200.

This week, "Christmas Tree" re-entered the Global 200 chart at No. 174. The song first landed on the tally for the week ending on Jan. 8. At the time, the "Our Beloved Summer" OST by V debuted at No. 51.

Now that it has re-entered the Billboard global chart, BTS V's "Christmas Tree" becomes the first Korean OST and second song by a Korean male soloist to spend multiple weeks on the list (2 weeks).

BTS V's "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" Fancams are among the Most-Viewed Fancams in 2021

In other news, two fancams featuring BTS V are among the most viewed in 2021.

In particular, BTS V's "Butter" fancam at SiriusXM (released on July 3) had the most views last year among all fancams. It garnered a whopping 14.66 million views.

V's other most-viewed fancam is the one where he dances to "Permission to Dance." The video gained 11.08 million views, making it the third most-viewed fancam.

As of August 2021, BTS V has a total of 12 fancams, all with more than 10 million views. He is the first and only Korean idol to obtain this. Because of this, fans dubbed him the "Fancam King."

Besides this, V also holds the record for the most-viewed, most-liked and most-commented fancam in history on YouTube. His "Boy With Luv" accumulated 135.5 million views with 1.3 million likes. It was also the fastest fancam to reach 100 million views, doing so in only 10 months.
