APRIL to Disband: DSP Media Reveals the Agency and Band Members' Decision
On Jan. 28, DSP Media released an official statement to announce APRIL's disbandment.
In their statement, DSP Media said that the agency and the APRIL members have had a long discussion regarding the group's future activities. And after much deliberation, both sides decided that the group will disband.

The label then specified that the members will go their separate ways, implying that the girls might sign with different companies for their future activities.
DSP Media continued, "We ask for your support and interest in the six members who will walk new paths that are not part of APRIL." They then thanked the fans who have supported and cheered on APRIL over the past six years.
APRIL has had a legal dispute with former member Lee Hyunjoo over the bullying controversy, which started in February 2021. Such a huge controversy shocked not only the K-pop industry but the general public and because of this they lost the public's trust and were unable to resume their activities as a group.

The bullying controversy surrounding APRIL and Hyunjoo began when a netizen who claimed to be the latter's brother said that Lee was bullied when she was still part of the group. DSP Media denied this accusation and took legal action against Hyunjoo and her family and friends.
Until now, even after DSP Media announced that APRIL will disband, no updates about the legal action between the two parties were provided apart from Hyunjoo's brother being cleared of defamation charges in June 2021, the agency denying that the police confirmed this and Lee's legal representatives refuting the label's denial.

APRIL's Last Album Before Disbandment
Before disbanding and being embroiled in the bullying controversy, APRIL made their last comeback in July 2020, when they dropped their special single album "Hello Summer." The album was made available in two versions: Summer Day and Summer Night.
APRIL's last album, "Hello Summer," consisted of two songs and their instrumental versions: "Now or Never" and "Paradise." Both tracks were used to promote the album.
"Hello Summer" sold 7,051 total copies in the first week on the Hanteo Chart and sold 14,408 copies in the first month on the Gaon Chart.
