NATURE Draws Attention For Their Unconventional Choreography of Latest Track 'RICA RICA'

Recently on January 27, n.CH Entertainment's girl group NATURE took to Mnet's music program "M Countdown" to perform live for the first time their latest song release "RICA RICA," which is the title track of their special album of the same name released back on January 24.

Just like for other K-Pop groups, Mnet shared a fancam video of the entire group performing the song over on their Youtube channel "M2."

In the video, NATURE can be seen performing on stage in matching red outfits with black knee-high boots. The choreography started off normally as the members appeared with the song's strong rhythm.

However, a few seconds into their choreography, the nine members them surprised viewers with a seemingly unconventional dance move as the NATURE girls began jumping in place quickly while their legs are put together.

They then moved their legs to do a "crab leg dance" while continuing to bounce, before kicking one of their legs in the air while maintaining their bouncing motion.

The entire dance move was done while the members' upper body stayed unmoving, with their arms placed on the side. The choreography was done again in the middle of the song.

Upon seeing the choreography of "RICA RICA," netizens couldn't help but be stunned yet intrigued by the rather interesting dance moves.

Netizens Joke NATURE's 'RICA RICA' Choreography Can Be Used for Diets

Some netizens commented how the dance move could be used as a good way to diet, given that the girls had to keep jumping in place while keeping their upper body steady.

Some of the comments said, "I think this would be a good dance for dieting," "The song is addictive and the dance is fun," and "It is funny that they are dancing with such a peaceful expression."

Many netizens also expressed how they are getting second-hand embarrassment from the choreography, saying, "Oh no, even I am getting embarrassed just by seeing this," "They will also feel embarrassed while dancing," and "I was so surprised because the dance was so bizarre."

In fact, the NATURE members themselves also felt a bit skeptical with the choreography when they first saw it.

In NATURE's documentary called "Nature Can't Fail Like This", member Sohee had said, "At first, I thought it was a dance that no one could do."

It was later revealed that their eye-catching dance move was based on the ethnic group Côte D'Ivoire's Zaouli dance.

What are your thoughts on NATURE's latest choreography?
