At the red carpet, Red Velvet posed in front of reporters for their photo op. As the five members were posing, they can also been wearing face masks to protect themselves from the spread of COVID-19.

However, during their photo op, the reporters began telling the members to take off their face masks for the photos.

Seulgi was the first member to realize what the reporters were asking of them, and looked to Red Velvet's leader, Irene, asking if they should remove their masks.

Hearing this, Irene immediately said "no," and told the reporters by crossing her arms in an "x" shape. Seulgi also crossed her arms to indicate that they wouldn't be removing their face masks.

While many would take off their masks to give reporters a perfect picture, Red Velvet was adamant about not removing theirs, given that South Korea had reported more than 14,000 new COVID-19 positive cases on the same day.

In addition, numerous of their fellow K-Pop idols had also tested positive for the virus in the past week.

Still, the reporters kept demanding for Red Velvet to remove their masks, with the group ultimately giving into the pressure and removing it.
