The quartet's last music release is in October 2020 when they dropped their first full-length album "THE ALBUM." Since then, Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo have been busy with their solo activities.
But, it appears like fans need not wait any longer as Jisoo and Jennie recently hinted at a potential full group comeback.

Although this is good news, some fans may still be wondering what caused the delay of the BLACKPINK's comeback. The supposed reason for this was recently revealed in a Chinese online forum.
On Feb. 1, a user made a post on the Chinese online forum Douban about YG Entertainment's new girl group. The netizen gave new information concerning the team.
It is said that the upcoming girl group will not be called Baemon and is produced by Teddy Park. Moreover, rumors say the number of members was reduced from six to five members, which will be four Korean and one Japanese.

It also alleged that the leader was born in 2000 and the youngest was born in 2006. There would be two rappers within the group (one Korean and one Japanese), and all members are fluent in English.
The rumor of YG Entertainment's new girl group having a five-member debut lineup quite coincides with a clip shared online: a video of five girls leaving YG's headquarter. The girls are believed to be the members of the group considering their youthful appearance and height.

Another piece of information that attracted netizens' attention the most concerns Teddy Park, a famous producer under YG Entertainment. Teddy is well-known for producing many of BLACKPINK's hit songs like "BOOMBAYAH," "Stay," "Playing with Fire" and "As If It's Your Last" among others.
It is speculated that Teddy Park is busy working with the new girl group for their debut. As a result, BLACKPINK's comeback was put off.
Many fans have been anticipating the debut of YG Entertainment's new girl group since the company confirmed this in August 2021.
