4 Girl Groups Reportedly in Talks to Be Part of 'Queendom 2' Lineup - Here's the Program's Response
On Feb. 4, industry insiders reported that the list of "Queendom 2" participants is currently being finalized through meetings with different girl groups. The report also stated that Brave Girls, Kep1er, ITZY and VIVIZ are among these girl groups.
Shortly afterward, a representative of "Queendom 2" responded that it is true they are looking for options for several girl groups who will join the program, but nothing has been confirmed so far.

"Queendom 2" is the second season of Mnet's popular girl group reality show "Queendom," which aired in 2019 and gave fans extraordinary performances by teams. During the first season, the participants included Park Bom, Oh My Girl, AOA, Lovelyz, MAMAMOO and (G)I-DLE.
Ever since Mnet confirmed the show's return, Twitter has become abuzz with fans wondering which girl groups would most likely participate.
Some fans speculate that girl groups who are yet to be highly recognized will be part of the "Queendom 2" lineup, such as LOONA, STAYC, Dreamcatcher, fromis_9, WJSN, Weki Meki, EVERGLOW, Weeekly and PURPLE K!SS. They believe that the reality show is a great platform for them to gain domestic and global exposure.

The other fans think that the list of "Queendom 2" participants might include girl groups who have won at least one music show trophy, including Brave Girls, STAYC, ITZY, LOONA, LABOUM and MOMOLAND.
Meanwhile, the official filming for "Queendom 2" is expected to start in mid-February. Girls' Generation Taeyeon will serve as the show's host, which will premiere on March 31 at 9:20 p.m. KST.

Before 2021 ended, ITZY made their Japanese debut on Dec. 22 with a compilation album, titled "It'z Itzy." It contains the original and Japanese versions of their previous songs like "DALLA DALLA," "WANNABE," "Not Shy" and "LOCO" among others.
ITZY's "It'z Itzy" debuted at No. 4 on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart dated (Jan. 3, 2022) after selling 30,740 copies. It also landed on Billboard Japan with 32,026 total copies sold.

Brave Girls' latest activity in the K-pop scene is their comeback on Aug. 23, when they dropped the repackaged version of their fifth mini-album ("Summer Queen"), titled "After We Ride." The album sold 11,333 copies on the Hanteo Chart in the first week and sold 15,404 copies on the Gaon Chart in the first month.
As for Kep1er, the new girl group just made their debut on Jan. 3 with their first mini-album "FIRST IMPACT," which features the title song "WA DA DA." Their debut was a success as they immediately won music show trophies and broke records in terms of first-day and first-week sales.
Meanwhile, VIVIZ is currently gearing up for their highly-awaited debut with their first mini-album "Beam of Prism" on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. KST.
