BIGBANG Dominates Media Outlets, With Article on Weibo Receiving Whopping Views
Back on February 7, YG Entertainment announced that legendary boy group, BIGBANG, will be making their comeback for the first time in four years since their last release "Flower Road" back in March 2018.
According to YG Entertainment, the four-member group has finished recording for their song, and is currently preparing to film for their new song's music video.
The label also announced that member T.O.P did not renew his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, and decided to depart the label to pursue personal projects and challenges as an entrepreneur and artist.
However, despite leaving the label, YG Entertainment clarified that he is still part of BIGBANG.
Following reports of BIGBANG's highly-awaited comeback, media outlets became filled with BIGBANG news. In fact, BIGBANG dominated several media outlets worldwide, such as South Korea, China, and Japan's major news media outlets.
Over in South Korea, BIGBANG landed at No. 1 on Naver's TV entertainment category. It also took No. 2, No. 4, and No. 11 throughout the day.

In Japan, BIGBANG trended at No. 3 on Yahoo! News, which is considered an amazing feat as it is rare for foreign artists to take a top spot in the ranks of Japan's major media outlets.
Aside from South Korea and Japan, BIGBANG also took the top spots in China's biggest social media platform, Weibo.
On Weibo, the news of BIGBANG's comeback was released by Sina Entertainment, with the title "BIGBANG is releasing new music..."
In particular, the article on Weibo released by Sina Entertainment received more than 240 million views in a span of less than 24 hours. In addition, the article received more than 186,000 likes in just 15 hours.
BIGBANG Takes Over Social Media
Aside from news media outlets, BIGBANG also overtook several social media outlets.
On Twitter, BIGBANG trended at No. 1 all over the world, garnering more than 305,000 tweets in just a few hours.
Many took to Twitter to express their excitement over the news of their comeback, and are happy to finally hear new music from them after four years.

In fact, along with BIGBANG, several other YG Entertainment artists, such as iKON, BLACKPINK, and 2NE1 also trended on the platform.
