BoA didn't immediately understand what she was supposed to do. So, Taeyeon told her to tighten her throat a bit more, and BoA did the exercise correctly.

Wendy and Taeyeon then taught the other members another vocal exercise. It involves saying the words "egg is here" in their nasal voices.

GOT The Beat Faces Backlash Following Release of 'Step Back'

GOT the Beat is a South Korean supergroup formed by SM Entertainment in January 2022. Even though the seven members of GOT the Beat are not from the same groups, they managed to work well with each other.

On Jan. 3, GOT the Beat debuted their single, "Step Back."

On New Year's Eve, GOT the beat performed at the SMTOWN Live 2022 together with other K-pop superstars under the label. The event set a new record with the highest number of views for a Korean online concert.

The event also garnered 51 million global streams, which was much higher compared to the number of streams they received in 2021.

Despite the success of "Step Back," some still took offense after realizing what the lyrics of the song are all about. After all, the track follows a woman accusing another female of flirting with her boyfriend. As such, she is asking her to take a step back.

Pop culture critic Kim Heon-sik said that the lyrics of "Step Back" felt that it was from the early 2000s because these types of lines were still acceptable then.

But now that it's 2022, it's no longer acceptable for two women to be fighting over a man. The critic also said that the GOT the beat track doesn't seem to reflect what a confident woman in this day and age is like.

A lot of people also felt that the song didn't jive with the other tracks that GOT the beat members released. For instance, BoA dropped "Girls On Top" in 2005. The song is about an independent woman.
