Super Junior Shindong Reveals an SM Entertainment Artist is Well-Known to Have the 'Celebrity Disease'

Recently on February 4, Super Junior member Shindong made a guest appearance on comedian Kim Gu Ra's Youtube channel, along with former GFRIEND's Yerin, Golden Child's Jangjun, N.Flying's Jaehyun, fromis_9's Jiwon, and Rocket Punch's Juri.

In this episode, the several featuring idols share with Kim Gu Ra and Shindong their concerns as an idol, as well as some stories about other idols in the K-Pop industry.

In particular, the idols talked about the "celebrity disease" in the video. "Celebrity disease" is a term for when a celebrity thinks that their status is more elevated due to their fame, and would usually become snobbish and act as if the world revolves around them.

While talking about idols with "celebrity disease," Shindong brings up how some idols are picky when it comes to brands.

"You know, there are some people who care about brands. There is this well-known story about one K-Pop star that I heard in the past," Shindong said.

He then continued that the K-Pop star acted like such a diva, such as refusing a bottle of water given to them by staff.

"This K-Pop star was really a diva. When a staff member was giving a bottle of water to one of the members of a K-Pop group, they refused to take the water bottle and said something to them," Shindong began.

The "House Party" singer continued, "They were like, 'I only drink Evian.' So the staff members panicked and started looking for a bottle of Evian.

Evian is known to be an expensive water brand due to its water's high mineral content which is said to be healthy for the body.

Shindong then added that the staff member couldn't get a bottle of Evian at that time, and because they didn't have enough time to go out and buy one, the staff member just took an empty bottle of Evian and filled it with water. The staff member then gave it to the K-Pop star, who didn't notice water's difference.

"The K-Pop star then opened that fake bottle of Evian water, and took a sip. They were like, 'Ah, Evian never lets me down,'" Shindong concludes.

Hearing this, the other idols couldn't help but laugh, with Kim Gu Ra commenting that he heard that same story before, and know who it is.

"Yeah, I have heard that story before as well. Actually, I know who that is. They are under your management label SM Entertainment, aren't they?" Kim Gu Ra asked.

Shindong responded saying he also knows who the person is, but he "doesn't remember," making everyone laugh.
