Best-Selling Albums in South Korea (January 2022) Include Works by ENHYPEN, SMTOWN, Kep1er, More!
Among the K-pop albums released in the past months, an album by a fourth-generation K-pop group secured the No. 1 spot on the Gaon Monthly Album Chart for January. In fact, albums by rookie groups dominated the top 10.
The No. 1 best-selling album in South Korea in January is ENHYPEN's "DIMENSION: ANSWER," which came out on Jan. 10. It sold a whopping 723,478 copies. What makes this more impressive is that it is the only album to sell more than half a million copies last month.

In addition, ENHYPEN's "DIMENSION: ANSWER" is the first and fastest album by a fourth-generation K-pop group to surpass 700,000 sales for a repackaged album on Gaon in the first month of release.
So far, "DIMENSION: ANSWER" is the second best-selling repackaged album by a fourth-generation K-pop group on Gaon, bested only by TXT's "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" that has already sold over 800,000 copies.
Following ENHYPEN's repackaged album on the Gaon Monthly Album Chart for January 2022 is SMTOWN's "2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS," which is already an old entry as it was released in December of last year.
"2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS" sold a total of 347,434 copies last month. It has now surpassed 430,000 total sales on Gaon.

The third best-selling album in South Korea in January is another new entry: Kep1er's "FIRST IMPACT," which arrived on Jan. 3. Gaon revealed that the mini-album sold a total of 300,099 copies, making it one of the only three K-pop albums that sold over 300,000 copies last month.
The fourth and fifth places on the Gaon Monthly Album Chart for January 2022 were held by NCT's "Universe" and fromis_9's "Midnight Guest," respectively. While "Universe" sold 152,476 copies, "Midnight Guest" recorded 134,003 sales.

Besides ENHYPEN's "DIMENSION: ANSWER," Kep1er's "FIRST IMPACT" and fromis_9's "Midnight Guest," five more new K-pop albums landed inside the top 10.
Ranking sixth on the list is P1Harmony's "DISHARMONY: FIND OUT," which sold 101,361 total copies. It is followed by GOT7 BamBam's "B" with 100,468 total sales.

Next is OMEGA X's "LOVE ME LIKE" at No. 8 with 88,151 copies sold, then MAMAMOO Wheein's "WHEE" ranked ninth with 80,105 copies. Completing the top 10 is PENTAGON's "IN_VITE U" in tenth place with 76,260 copies.
