YG Entertainment Invests a Whopping Amount to Produce TREASURE's Upcoming 'JIKJIN' Music Video
On February 11 KST, boy group TREASURE's label, YG Entertainment, revealed that they had invested an all-time high amount into the production of the group's music video for their upcoming title track "JIKJIN."
According to YG Entertainment, they invested around 500 million KRW (around $417,000 USD) to produce the music video.
Such a figure is usually invested into K-Pop groups who have been in the industry longer or are more globally popular, such as their artist BLACKPINK, and rarely do artists who are still rookies or are on the rise have such an investment.
But with YG Entertainment's whopping budget for TREASURE's "JIKJIN" music video, it shows that fans can have high expectations for their new track and its music video, and that TREASURE will be YG Entertainment's front runner in the first half of this year.
Despite TREASURE's rookie status, they are showing rapid growth in the global music market since their debut back in August 2020.
In fact, TREASURE's upcoming first mini-album, "The Second Step: Chapter One," which features "JIKJIN" as the title track, had recorded 600,000 album copies sold in pre-orders alone.

As it is common for an album's sales to increase when the group's full-fledged activities begin, TREASURE's steady popularity and recording new career-highs are expected.
Former 'MAMA' PD to Lead 'JIKJIN' Music Video Direction
Reports also stated that director Lee Sang Yoon, a former PD for Mnet who directed the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and was recruited by YG Entertainment back in 2017, will lead the music video's production. He had previously worked on the music video for BLACKPINK Lisa's solo track "MONEY."
In addition, according to YG Entertainment, they plan to increase their progress speed and diversity, while strengthening their in-house production system.
"We plan to continuously upgrade the label's own production capabilities in order to expand the variety of our artists' content," the label said.

They continued, "For the music video of 'JIKJIN', billions of won worth of supercars were mobilized to match the song's lyrics, which provokes the desire to drive full speed ahead for one's ambitions."
"YGE plans on continuously upgrading the agency's own production capabilities in order to expand the variety of content created for our artists. For the shooting of TREASURE's 'Jikjin' MV, the agency mobilized numerous luxury cars to match the track's lyrics, which arouse the desire to drive ahead at full speed for one's ambitions."
Meanwhile, "JIKJIN" will be released on February 15 at 6pm KST.
