VIVIZ on Weekly Idol: Trio Shares Other Choices They Had for Their New Group Name
On Feb. 9, former GFRIEND members Umji, SinB and Eunha officially re-debuted as VIVIZ. The trio returned with a new image that they weren't able to show before. They released their first mini-album "Beam of Prism," which features the title song "BOP BOP!"
On the same day, VIVIZ guested on "Weekly Idol," hosted by Kwang Hee and MONSTA X Minhyuk (who is currently a special MC while Super Junior Eunhyuk is absent). The new girl group not only performed on the show but also sat down to have a chat with the hosts.

During the "Weekly Idol Wish Center" segment of the show, SinB, Umji and Eunha responded to the handwritten wishes that Na.V (VIVIZ's fandom) submitted.
For the first wish, VIVIZ was asked to share the group names they considered using, aside from their current name. To this, Kwang Hee commented that the three might have had a debate on how to name their group.
The former GFRIEND members simultaneously responded that they considered many other names to use besides "VIVIZ."
According to Umji, one of those names is "Three Friends." Eunha added that this is "one of the normal ones" they considered, implying that there might be some odd names on their list.

Umji continued, "As you know, we used to be GFRIEND." But, since they have only three members in the group, they thought of naming themselves "Three Friends" as a reference to their previous group name.
"Weekly Idol" MC Minhyuk commented that "Three Friends" is not that bad to be VIVIZ's name. However, when Kwang Hee asked what the ladies thought of the name, they said that they "ignored" it. The name turned out to be a suggestion from higher officials at the group's agency, as per Umji.
In addition to "Three Friends," VIVIZ's name also could have been "Soulmate," which Umji described as a name that's "fine but not catchy."
Do you like VIVIZ as SinB, Umji and Eunha's group name, or do you prefer either Three Friends or Soulmate more?
