Coldplay couldn't hide how impressed they were after hearing BLACKPINK Rosé's cover of their hit song, "Viva La Vida."

BLACKPINK Rosé Drops Three Covers on Her Birthday
On Friday, Feb. 11, Rosé shared a clip of herself covering the 2008 track while inside the studio. She was also joined by The Black Label producer LOREN, who played the guitar with her.
Coldplay then uploaded Rosé's cover of "Viva La Vida" to their Instagram Story and praised the BLACKPINK member for her beautiful voice.
This isn't the only song that Rosé covered to commemorate her birthday. She released her own stripped-down version of Neck Deep's song, "December." The video has already received over 1 million views within just 21 hours.
They also took the time to greet her on her special day.

As of writing, Rosé's cover of "Viva La Vida" has already garnered over 2 million views on YouTube after just 24 hours.
BLACKPINK Rosé also shared a video of herself singing "Don't Look Back In Anger" by Oasis. The idol's cover has also garnered over 1 million views within 19 hours.
Prior to these three videos that were all released on Feb. 11, Rosé also covered "Wildfire" by Cautious Clay in December 2021.
BLACKPINK Rosé Talks About 'R, 'On the Ground'
BLACKPINK Rosé is a Korean-New Zealand singer and dancer who's based in South Korea, but she grew up in New Zealand and Australia with her family.
In 2012, she signed with YG Entertainment following an audition. She trained with the agency for four years.
Following her successful training with the agency, YG Entertainment decided to put her as the main vocalist and lead dancer of BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016 and after releasing several songs and albums, Rosé finally had her break as a solo artist in March 2021. She released her single album "R," which sold thousands of copies within the first week.
The title track for "R" is "On the Ground." Her pre-release was titled "Gone."
Fans of Rosé couldn't help but wonder why her debut solo album was in English. They initially thought that it was the singer's way of trying to reach a more global audience.
But BLACKPINK Rosé explained that she decided to release her first debut solo album in English because this is what felt right to her.
The singer-dancer also wanted to up the level of completeness of her songs that's why she decided to go this route.
In April 2021, Rosé sat down for an interview with Billboard where she talked about the song "On the Ground."
Rosé said that the theme of the song which is about priorities spoke to her the most that's why she decided to sing about it and not about other issues like heartaches and relationships.
At the end of the day, the song just felt right that's why she included it in "R."
