Girls' Generation Taeyeon Talks About 'INVU'

During the showcase to commemorate the release of her 3rd full album, "INVU," on February 14, Taeyeon shared it's an honor and privilege to be dubbed a role model, adding that it also comes with so much pressure.

Nevertheless, Taeyeon reminded the younger generation that it's important to know and pursue what they want. Since the world out there is very competitive and cruel, she hopes they wouldn't get hurt that much.

Even though she's grateful to her fans for their support, Taeyeon made it clear that she's her own driving force.

When it comes to her third studio album, "INVU," Taeyeon shared she understands people have high expectations of her, that's why she worked so hard for her latest project.

The "Weekend" singer added that most of the songs in "INVU" are about herself, particularly the song "I."

The theme of "INVU" is love, so she made sure to show the different facets of love in her third studio album.

The Girls' Generation member also talked about her title track and said she knew from the first time she heard the demo that this was supposed to be her carrier single.

However, those working with her didn't necessarily like the song. But she persuaded them because she knew that it's meant to be her title track.

When talking about the music video for "INVU," Taeyeon said that she tried her best to express herself in different ways throughout the song.

The choreography is also unique because it focuses on the letters that spell the word "INVU." And there are also Greek and Roman concepts throughout the music video.

'INVU' Tops Domestic, International Music Charts

On Tuesday, Feb. 15, Taeyeon's album, "INVU" ranked no. 1 on iTunes Top Album charts in Canada, Sweden, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and other parts of the world.

The album also topped daily domestic album charts including Hanteo Chart and Synnara Record.

China's QQ Music also certified "INVU" as a platinum album one day after it was released.

Girls' Generation Taeyeon's Interview Revisited

In June 2021, Girls' Generation Taeyeon appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine for its July issue.

During her post-shoot interview, Taeyeon admitted that she had been spending so much time thinking about who she is as a person and as an artist.

She said that it was not intentional but she has been writing in her diary while thinking about herself.

When she made her debut as a solo artist in 2015, she thought long and hard about what color she should display as an artist.

But over the years, she has become more relaxed. She has also learned to know the kind of person that she is.

One of her goals as an artist is to have a positive influence on her fans. And this is something that she has already achieved because they have been regarding her as their role model.
