BLINKs Boycott BLACKPINK's '2022 Welcoming Collection' and Demand Better Treatment for Group
Recently on February 14, YG Entertainment announced the release of BLACKPINK's "2022 Welcoming Collection," a DVD featuring each of the members and their unique charms, through the group's social media accounts.
Here, they shared further details regarding the "2022 Welcoming Collection," such the price and packages. It will also be available for pre-order beginning February 14 until March 1, with the release date on March 2 KST.
Along with the announcement is also a preview of the products itself, showcasing its different packaging and contents.
While many are happy to have new products and content by BLACKPINK, many also expressed their frustration with the label.
Over on YG Family's Twitter account, hundreds of BLACKPINK fans, known as BLINKs, took to the comment section to criticize YG Entertainment for not giving BLACKPINK their highly-awaited comeback.
In fact, it has been over 500 days since the four-member group released their latest studio album, "THE ALBUM," back in October 2020.

BLINKs then protested against the release of the "2022 Welcoming Collection," and instead, are demanding that the group release a new album or song.
Some comments read, "IF YOU JUST RELEASE A FULL ALBUM U CAN HAVE ALL OUR MONEY BUT NO YOU STILL CHOOSE TO DROP THIS ONLY 30MINS LONG VIDEO JUST A Q&A THAT MADE BY UR STAFF. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH," "bro we literally just want music," "BLACKPINK COMEBACK WHEN????," "WE DON'T CARE. IF IT'S NOT MUSIC, WE'RE NOT BUYING IT," and "We won't be buying anything from you until we get what we want," among others.
Some have also criticized the design of the "2022 Welcoming Collection," calling the packaging's design lacking in creativity and indifferent.
One comment said, "I'm not one to hate or be mean spirited. But I've got to show my utter discontent with this. Not only are blinks desperate for music and not another photo book. But this is distasteful, never seen such primitive design and it's not even pretty, in fact, it's ugly... "
It was also revealed that the DVD in the collection is only 30 minutes long, and that it is only available through the digital code version and can be watched through Weverse only, further heightening BLINKs anger at YG Entertainment.
