2021 Hanteo Music Awards Announces IVE and EPEX as Winners of the 'Rookie of the Year' Award
Hanteo Global, the organizer of the newly-launched Hanteo Music Awards in partnership with the global fan community platform Whosfan, announced the winners of this year's Rookie of the Year award.
Through the official Youtube channel of WhosfanTV, Hanteo announced that Starship Entertainment's first girl group since Cosmic Girls (WJSN), IVE, and C9 Entertainment's boy group, EPEX, are the recipients of the Rookie of the Year award.
The Rookie of the Year award is given to an artist who made their debut in 2021 and is someone who is expected to perform well in the future through indicators such as their album and song sales, and sound source, social and portal, media, and broadcasting, global, and fandom presence.
The Hanteo Music Awards chose the representative K-Pop boy and girl groups that debuted in 2021, with the award based on the total scores of each artists collected by Hanteo Chart and through the global voting conducted on the Whosfan app, which took place from December 27 to January 2.
On February 15, rookie girl group IVE took to WhosfanTV to express their gratitude to fans and share their thoughts on winning the award.
"IVE won the Rookie of the Year award at the 2021 Hanteo Music Awards. The Rookie of the Year award is a once-in-a-lifetime award. We are very happy and excited to be able to hold the [Rookie of the Year] award," IVE said.
