These days, a few Chinese K-pop idols are under fire for not performing the traditional Korean bow. The issue began early this January after EVERGLOW Yiren was seen not bowing in front of the fans to greet them a happy new year, instead, she just stood and put her hands together.

EXO is known to have 12 initial members, eight are Koreans and four are Chinese. At present, the boy group has only one Chinese member left and that's Lay. The other Chinese members were Luhan, Tao and Kris, who left the group and SM Entertainment individually between 2014 and 2015.

On Feb. 15, a post showing a clip of EXO was made in an online community. The clip presents the time the boy group guested on MBC's "Weekly Idol" back in August 2013, just over a year since their debut.

The clip particularly shows the scene where all 12 EXO members performed the traditional Korean bow to formally greet the fans. It was part of the "Weekly Idol" segment "Doni Koni, Idol's Call Center, Call Call Call," wherein the idols have to do what the fans asked them to do.

The first caller at that time asked the boys to all do a formal bow. Hence, they simultaneously kneeled and bowed their heads. A few of them even said that they will continue to work hard.

Upon encountering this post, some netizens wonder why EXO's Chinese members (Tao, Lay, Kris and Luhan) didn't hesitate to do the traditional Korean bow, while the other Chinese K-pop idols are refusing to do it nowadays.
