2AM Jo Kwon Updates Fans Post-COVID-19 Battle

The K-pop idol gave his fans a personal update via his Instagram account. He also shared the symptoms that he experienced after testing positive for the virus.

According to Jo Kwon, he lost his sense of smell and taste while battling COVID-19.

He also revealed that he self-isolated for seven days before apologizing to 2AM fans for not being able to perform for them even if they've been waiting for nine years.

Jo Kwon also thanked everyone that helped and supported him while he was battling COVID-19 including his family, friends, and fans.

He ended his lengthy post by telling fans that he's looking forward to seeing them soon. He also reminded everyone to keep prioritizing their health.

They said that Jo Kwon tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing minor symptoms. The agency also confirmed that their talent is fully-vaccinated against the virus, but he still tested positive.

2AM's "22 S/S" shows on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13 would've been their first solo performance in nine years. But even if 2AM has not been performing live for their fans, Jo Kwon has been very active on other platforms.

2AM Jo Kwon Talks About Being Genderless

2AM Jo Kwon gave a candid interview about his gender identity during a 2020 interview.

While speaking with Newsis, Jo Kwon said that he identifies himself as genderless. Even though this concept may seem like taboo for other people in South Korea, he has learned to embrace himself over the years.

In fact, Jo Kwon said that being genderless is his weapon. In the past, he was afraid of having a neutral image because not everyone would accept it.

So, when people told him that he looked like a woman, he should shut down the idea and go on with his life.

Jo Kwon also thinks that being genderless is what will keep him in the industry for a very long time. After all, he would have more things to do.

In April 2020, Jo Kwon said that he got hurt when people started making assumptions about his sexuality.

When he appeared in KBS Joy's "Ask Anything" on April 13, 2020, Jo Kwon said that a lot of people misunderstood his sexuality because he would always dance with girl groups.

But he also said that it was J.Y. Park that encouraged him to do anything that would make fans laugh because he was in a ballad group.

Even if Jo Kwon is not a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he has still been one of their most vocal allies.

In November 2018, he posted a cryptic tweet saying that some people judge others according to the flesh, but he judges no one.
