Since Spotify officially launched its service in South Korea, the sixth-biggest music market in the world, albums by both domestic and international artists caught the attention of Korean music lovers. But, only 10 of them received the most support in the past 12 months.
Among the 10 most-streamed albums on Spotify South Korea, three works belong to the "21st-century pop icon" BTS. Two of the boy group's albums were released in 2020, while the other one came out back in 2017.

The 2020 BTS albums are "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" and "BE," which grabbed the No. 2 and No. 3 spots on the top 10 list, respectively. The 2017 album is "You Never Walk Alone," which ranked No. 10.
Although BTS didn't secure the No. 1 position, the septet is the artist with the most entries (3 albums), which means their albums received the most love from Korean Spotify listeners.

According to the list, IU's "LILAC" was the most-streamed album by a female artist as it took the No. 4 position, making it the only female album inside the top 5.

The final K-pop entry on the top 10 list is BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM," which came in at No. 9. While the studio album didn't soar high on the tally, its ranking is still notable in the way that the album isn't a new release as it was dropped in 2020 and the quartet has not made a comeback as a group since that year.
Looking at the other albums on the list, only "THE ALBUM" is the work that belongs to a female group. This means BLACKPINK was the most-streamed female group on Spotify South Korea in its first year of release.
