BTS, TXT Receive TikTok Awards for Being Only Male K-pop Artists to Achieve THIS Feat

Both BTS and TXT have received awards from TikTok for attaining this particular feat that no other male K-pop artists have reached.

BTS, TXT Earn TikTok Awards as First Male K-pop Artists to Attain THIS Milestone

On Feb. 21, Big Hit Music announced that the label's two boy groups, BTS and TXT, had recently received TikTok awards for achieving a certain milestone in terms of followers.

In particular, both TXT and BTS have earned gold and silver TikTok Creator Awards after exceeding 10 million followers on the platform. Silver awards are given to TikTok creators who have reached one million followers, while gold awards are given to TikTok creators that have reached 10 million followers.

To date, BTS has the highest number of followers among K-pop artists on TikTok, while TXT is the male K-pop group with the second-most followers, after BTS. While BTS currently has more than 46.5 million followers, TXT has over 15.6 million followers.

Only the two boy groups from Big Hit Music have earned a TikTok Gold Creator Award, meaning they are the only male K-pop artists to reach 10 million followers on the short-form, video-sharing app, so far.

BTS has been releasing content that can only be seen in TikTok. In the past, they have made short videos using the "Butter" remix version featuring Megan Thee Stallion and their collab song "My Universe" with Coldplay.

Meanwhile, TXT uses TikTok not only for entertainment but also for teasing their upcoming comebacks. In 2021, the quintet dropped the highlight medley for their second studio album "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" and its repackaged version "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" on the social app.

In addition to that, TXT's "Anti-Romantic," the B-side song from "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" gained massive popularity on TikTok despite the group not having proper promotions for the song. As of June 25, less than a month after its release, "Anti-Romantic" had already been used in more than 106,000 videos on the app.

BTS, TXT Steadily Soars High on Billboard World Albums Chart

In other news, both BTS and TXT continuously rank high on the Billboard World Albums chart despite their albums being released months/years ago.

For the week ending on Feb. 19, BTS reclaimed the No. 1 on the tally with their 2020 studio album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," marking their 35th non-consecutive week at No. 1 and their 103rd week on the Billboard chart overall.

Besides "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," there are five more BTS albums on the latest Billboard World Albums chart. While "BE" ranked No. 6, "Love Yourself: Tear" charted at No. 8, "Love Yourself: Her" at No. 9, "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" at No. 14, and "Love Yourself: Answer" at No. 15.

Meanwhile, TXT secured the No. 10 place with "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE." The studio album has now spent 37th consecutive week on the Billboard chart, extending its record as the longest-running 2021 K-pop album on the tally.
