On Dec. 31, 2021, the rapper posted a heartfelt letter to his fans on Instagram where he announced his decision to step down from his position as CEO of both AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC, which he founded in 2013 and 2017 respectively.

On Jan. 1 this year, Jay Park's Instagram account was no longer searchable, implying that he has deleted it. This led to many fans asking why he decided to take down his SNS account, which has 5.8 million followers.

During an interview with the web magazine HYPEBEAST on Feb. 22, the former AOMG CEO has revealed why, and according to him, there are two main reasons.

First, Jay Park decided to delete his Instagram account because, as per him, he wanted to let everyone know that his resignation from the position of CEO of both AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC was a "very difficult decision" he made.

The second reason is that he wanted to show people new things and prevent losing his original intentions.

The rapper said, "After a long period of promotions, similar pictures keep coming out, which means the viewers and myself can get tired of it, so I always try to do something new."

Jay Park continued that he wants to stimulate and burden himself and also show his unexpected behavior to people who are watching over him. "Leaving Instagram is one of them. I literally don't want to lose my original intentions," he concluded.

When asked about his current life without social media, the former H1GHR MUSIC CEO responded, "It's good. SNS is just a publicity tool for me. If I wasn't a celebrity, I wouldn't have done social media. I don't like showing people everything I do."

Jay Park's Instagram account, which had 5.8 million followers, is predicted to have a feed ad value of more than 50 million won as he typically receives an advertisement fee of 10 won per follower. His overall account value is assumed to be billions of won.

Jay Park Makes Solo Comeback with New Single 'To Life'

On the same day that Jay Park deleted his Instagram account, he released a new single titled "To Life." This song, which features his labelmates under AOMG, comes after his digital single "Summeride" which came out back in April 2020.

In the music video for "To Life," the idol lets go of his position as CEO of his founded labels and stands with his fellow labelmates. The lyrics to the track reveal the rapper's feelings on his next step after resigning as his companies' CEO.

If Jay Park decides to retire soon from the entertainment industry, "To Life" will be his last music release.
