Former Gugudan Member Kang Mina Responds to Possibility of Group Reuniting in the Future
On February 25 KST, former Gugudan member turned actress, Kang Mina, recently participated in an interview following the last episode of her first hisotrical drama, "When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon," in which she starred alongside Girl's Day's Hyeri, Yoo Seung Ho, and Byun Woo Seok.
During the interview, Kang Mina was asked numerous questions regarding her role as Ahn Ae Jin in the KBS2 drama.
The interview also mentioned how Kang Mina is a "singer-turned-actress," and asked how she overcame the stigma of "idol-actors."
To this, Kang Mina, revealed that she had initially been worried about people looking down on her as she was a singer that turned into an actress, but now she isn't thinking about it that way.
"Wouldn't it be better if I could just act well and show it well? As a singer-songwriter, there are also advantages. I don't get nervous when I have to look at the camera and act," Kang Mina said.
They also mentioned how the industry is seeing K-Pop idols and groups, especially those who have disbanded, making reunions these past years, and asked Kang Mina "What the possibility of a Gugudan reunion is?"

Regarding the possibility of a Gugudan reunion sometime in the future, Kang Mina responds by saying that each of the members are working on their respective careers, hence, there are no plans yet of a reunion.
"Gugudan is working hard in their respective paths, and I too, recently started working as an actor. So now I want to be faithful [to my job] and focus on acting," the young idol-actress said.
In terms of Kang Mina debuting as a solo artist, she laughs and shares that she "doesn't think she will be able to do solo."

Kang Mina first made her debut as a member of the project girl group I.O.I back in May 2016. Following the group's disbandment, she re-debuted as a member of Gugudan in June of the same year. After four years of promotion, the group disbanded in December 2020.
Gugudan's Last Release Before Disbandment
Before Gugudan disbanded in December 2020, the group had been inactive for two years, with their last music release being in November 2018.
Prior to each of the members slowly departing from Jellyfish Entertainment, they had released their third and final mini-album "Act. 5 New Action," which featured a total of six tracks, including the title track "Not That Type."
The album peaked at No. 8 on Gaon's Album chart.
