5 Legendary Idols in Charge of 'Killing Parts': BTS Jimin, BLACKPINK Jennie, MORE!

In K-pop, the "killing part" is a famous term to describe the hook or certain part of a song that catches the attention of listeners and viewers. Which legendary idol is famous for this role?

The so-called "killing part" is usually a short but intense impression in the music, which determines the concept of the song and further contributes to the artist's musical identity.

"Killing parts" could be a line and phrase from the song or it could be a specific dance move as well. An example is TWICE Sana's legendary "shy shy shy" line that made the whole K-pop scene in a frenzy.

Recently, the concept of a member in charge of killing parts has emerged separately in idol vocals, so its necessity is becoming more of a hot topic.

On March 1, the Korean media outlet Art Insights selected five K-pop idols who will immediately come to mind once you hear the word "killing part."

Iconic Male Idols In Charge of 'Killing Parts': BTS Jimin, NCT Haechan

In the K-pop scene, the multinational group NCT is one of the best vocal groups out there. Among them, the member who stands out most due to his unique vocals is Haechan.

A media outlet noted, "As his own vocal color is clear and fits into various genres, he creates a firm identity within NCT's music that pursues diversity."

Indeed, when Haechan started singing with his "killing voice," you can't help but find yourself replaying his part over and over again!

Another representative of the "killing part" is BTS Jimin. The idol is the main dancer of the group but aside from his artistic movement, Jimin's charisma and fiery presence can truly rip up the stage.

Due to this, he also earned the modifier, "Master of Introduction," capturing the attention of fans with his strong charms.

Iconic Female Idols In Charge of 'Killing Parts': BLACKPINK Jennie, MORE!

For female idols, the media outlet selected Oh My Girl's Arin as the first idol that comes to mind when it comes to the "killing part."

"Oh My Girl Arin's short but powerful killing part adds a calm impression to complete OH MY GIRL's unique dreamy feeling."

Another one is former Lovelyz Yoo Jiae who is known as the one in charge of most "killing part" of the group. She particularly played numerous song hooks by utilizing her unique high-tone tone.

But the list is not complete without BLACKPINK Jennie, who is the female counterpart of Jimin as "Master of Introduction."

In 2016, Jennie introduced the iconic line "Blackpink in your area" through their debut track, "BOOMBAYAH."

The author wrote, "Even though there is main vocalist Rosé who has excellent voice and volume in the team, I tend to realize that it is BLACKPINK's music only when I listen to the introduction that starts with Jennie's voice."
