BTS Guinness World Records List - Septet Scores Three New Milestones
On March 5, Guinness World Records officially announced the new achievements that BTS attained this past February. Their latest feats are related to the social media platforms Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.
Last month, BTS had garnered 44,167,059 followers on Twitter, making them the most-followed music group on the platform. This record was previously held by One Direction, who amassed more than 31.7 million followers in 2017.

Aside from having the biggest following, the Bangtan Boys also hold other more Guinness World Records related to Twitter. Back on April 29, 2019, the group and their fandom ARMY registered 422,228 engagements on the platform, setting new records for the most Twitter engagements (average retweets) for a music group and the most Twitter engagements of all time.
BTS has also set the new world record for having the most followers on Instagram for a music group. By February 2022, the septet reached 60,151,959 followers. The South Korean group was also the one who held the previous record, which they broke in April 2021 after hitting 40,220,226 followers.

The "Butter" singers continued to set records when all seven members launched their Instagram accounts in December 2021. Just within over five hours, band member V surpassed the world records for the fastest time to gain both one million and 10 million Instagram followers.
As expected, BTS has also set the Guinness World Record for the most followed music group on TikTok. Their official account on the platform had gained 45.7 million followers to date. This follower count also lands them at No. 16 on the list of most popular TikTok accounts overall.
With these three milestones, the Bangtan Boys now has broken a total of 28 world records. They were previously inducted into the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame in September 2021 for their accomplishments.
Congratulations BTS!
