Truth Behind Girls' Generation Taeyeon's Dating Rumors With VIXX Ravi
On December 27, 2020, Joy News 24 released an exclusive report claiming that the two were dating. In the report, it stated they had been dating for a year.

The article cited a source close to the two idols, explaining that Taeyeon and Ravi were introduced through a mutual friend around a year ago. The publication then stated that Ravi and Taeyeon were spotted entering the former's home on December 25 (Christmas Day). Therefore, it is speculated they celebrated Christmas together.
Taeyeon's agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement on the matter shortly after checking with the idol. They stated that they were not dating and only had a close senior-junior relationship. SM Entertainment added that they became good friends after working together on Ravi's song.

However, Ravi's agency, GROOVL1N, released a statement that differs from SM Entertainment. They confirmed the dating news and asked people not to make false, speculative comments so that the two artists could date comfortably.
The differing statements confused the public. Additionally, it was revealed that the "close source" stated in the news source is an acquaintance of Ravi. This led people to debate if the dating rumors were true or not.

After releasing their first statement, GROOVL1N changed their tune and released a follow-up statement. There, they denied the dating rumors. They further explained that Ravi and Taeyeon are friends who became close after working together for music.
Following the rumors, Taeyeon took to her Instagram Story to indirectly express her anger over the rumors. She shared a screenshot from a part of tvN's "Amazing Saturday" featuring SHINee's Key with the phrase "A handy meme to use when you are holding everything in."

The rumors ended at that. It is believed the two never dated and that the two agencies simply did not align their statements.

As of writing, Taeyeon is not publicly dating anybody. With that in mind, it is safe to assume that the Girls' Generation member is single. Previously, she dated EXO member Baekhyun from 2013 to 2015.
