On March 9, CL shared a new photo on her Instagram handler, and to fans' surprise, it was a picture of her with two of her fellow 2NE1 members.

The image was uploaded with a black and white theme and shows CL posing for the camera with Sandara and Minzy.

In the caption, the "SPICY" singer wrote, "What's up we."

Minzy and Dara also posted the same picture on their personal Instagram accounts and included multiple hearts in the caption.

As the girls didn't say much about the photo, their social media update piqued fans' curiosity as to what they were up to.

Since their split in November 2016, the four 2NE1 members have been busy with their solo careers. They remain active in the entertainment industry at present, so Blackjacks (2NE1's fandom) are hoping that the girls will get back together for a comeback reunion.

While some fans may be hoping that they met to prepare a new song or album, the group's mini-reunion recently turned out to be a celebration of CL's 31st birthday.

Through her Instagram story, Sandara uploaded the same black-and-white photo and wrote, "It's late, but it's Chaelin's birthday."

Blackjacks who came across the picture left comments to greet CL. Some of them expressed how much they miss seeing the 2NE1 members together, while others are conveying their love for the group.

There were also a few fans who were looking for Park Bom, who wasn't present at CL's birthday celebration.

It is assumed that Park Bom is busy preparing for her solo comeback with her new single, "Flower," featuring MeloMance's Kim Min Seok, which is due out on March 11.

2NE1's Last Comeback as a 4-Member Group

2NE1 disbanded in November 2016. While they released their last single, "Goodbye," in January 2017, the track was recorded by only three members, CL, Dara, and Park Bom. Minzy was unable to participate in the song as she left the company in April 2016.

Ahead of Minzy's departure from YG Entertainment, 2NE1 made a full group comeback, which became their last activity as a quartet.

In February 2014, the legendary girl group dropped their second Korean full-length album, "Crush." A Japanese edition of the album was released in June of the same year.

2NE1's "Crush" contains a total of 10 tracks including the hit songs "Come Back Home" and "Gotta Be You." "Come Back Home" ranked No. 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart for two weeks in a row and was the band's ninth (and final) No. 1 song in South Korea. They were the idol group with the most No. 1 hits on Gaon at the time.

The other songs from "Crush" also experienced success on the Korean music chart; nine out of the 10 tracks landed inside the Top 20 on the weekly chart for two weeks.

"Crush" even peaked at No. 61 on Billboard 200 after selling 10,000 copies in the United States, setting a US record for the highest-charting and bestselling K-pop album during that time.
