Miyawaki Sakura, Kim Chaewon Officially Sign With Source Music
On March 14, Source Music released a statement confirming former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon have officially signed with Source Music.

Source Music released a statement that reads:
"We have officially signed an exclusive contract with Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon."
The two artists will be active as members of the first girl group to be launched in collaboration with HYBE Labels and Source Music.
Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon previously worked as members of IZ*ONE from 2018 to 2021. The group was formed through the Mnet survival program "Produce 48."
Miyawaki Sakura, who hails from Japan, was also a member of the J-pop group HKT48.

Since last year, there have been rumors in the K-pop music industry that Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon would debut as members of a new girl group that HYBE Labels is preparing to launch. At the time of the rumors, however, HYBE Labels refused to give a statement on the contracts of the two artists.
Now, it has been confirmed that the two former IZ*ONE members will be making their re-debut under the HYBE Corporation subsidiary, Source Music.
In their statement, the agency asks for the anticipation and support of the public, saying that the two artists will show a new side with their re-debut.

What We Know About Source Music's Upcoming Girl Group
Anticipation concerning Source Music's new girl group has been brewing since 2021. Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon are confirmed members of the lineup, and other rumored members include former "Produce 48" contents Heo Yunjin (2001), as well as Soobin (2001), Yijun (2004), and Chaemin (2006.)

They are expected to be a global girl group, with Miyawaki Sakura from Japan, Yijun from Taiwan, and Heo Yunjin being Korean-American.
The group name is speculated to be LESSERAFIM. In January 2022, a girl group with the name appeared on Source Music's Namu Wiki page (Korea's version of Wikipedia). It was noted that HYBE Labels registered the copyright for the group name on October 12, 2021.

The Source Music girl group is expected to make their debut in late 2022 or early 2023.
